ShootFirst = PurplePete = PaperPerson
FYI in the interest of not hiding my identity: I have been known here as ShootFirst. But I recently changed my nom de plume here on SI to PurplePete. I use Paperperson on some other boards.
I am still the same research-intensive guy, Michael, with the same portfolio that favors PM mining stocks and their warrants. When I am not putting my thoughts here, i am on the Canadian Warrants Only board. I often double-post on this Discovery Board and that one.
My main holdings right now are warrants in PAL/PDL, Franco-Nevada FNV.TO, Kinross KGC/K.TO, Endeavour Financial EDV.TO, First Majestic FR.TO and Sprott Resources SCP.TO.
I post stuff I find interesting about the precious metals markets and the U.S. dollar, which remains an important governor on the price of gold. As the dollar drops, gold reacts by rising in dollar terms.
I also put together my own thoughts, usually on the stocks i hold.
in the stocks, I am looking to do better than average but without taking huge risks.
I am always looking for a stock with a story that has not been well told yet. But one where there are reasons why the story could become more clearly cognized by the marketplace in the months ahead. North American Palladium is an absolutely perfect example and that is why it is my largest holding. I elaborate on the reasons below.
Besides having a good story, I like a stock that is cashed up and does not have a crazy number of shares outstanding, keeping in perspective its maturity. it is ok with me for kinross to have 700 mm shares, but it is not ok for Etruscan Resources to have 300 million shares. That is why i am in endeavour financial as the company with majority of control of EET but not in EET itself. I do not want to be a direct shareholder in EET when they pull the plug and do a reverse split.
