It holds interests in various mines located in the Grasberg minerals district in Indonesia; Morenci, Bagdad, Safford, Sierrita, Miami, Chino, Tyrone, Henderson, and Climax in North America; Cerro Verde and El Abra in South America; and Tenke Fungurume minerals district in Africa. The company?s oil and gas operations include oil production facilities in the Deepwater Gulf of Mexico (GOM); oil production facilities onshore and offshore California; onshore natural gas resources in the Haynesville shale play in Louisiana; natural gas production from the Madden area in central Wyoming; and a position in the Inboard Lower Tertiary/Cretaceous natural gas trend located in the shallow waters of the GOM and onshore in South Louisiana. As of December 31, 2014, its consolidated recoverable proven and probable mineral reserves included 103.5 billion pounds of copper, 28.5 million ounces of gold, 3.11 billion pounds of molybdenum, 282.9 million ounces of silver, and 0.85 billion pounds of cobalt; and its estimated proved oil and natural gas reserves totaled 390 million barrels of oil equivalents. The company was formerly known as Freeport-McMoRan Copper & Gold Inc. and changed its name to Freeport-McMoRan Inc. in July 2014. Freeport-McMoRan Inc. was founded in 1987 and is headquartered in Phoenix, Arizona.
