This is the place for the annual SI NFL Football picks contest. The board is purely for fun and all are welcome to join.
First, and foremost, we honor those among us who have passed: Ish (who originally started this thread), Rudi (aka sandintoes), Oral Roberts, and Glenn Petersen (our longtime scorekeeper).
Rules:
1. At the start of the season, everyone chooses a number from 1 to the total number of players for that season.
2. For week 1, the person in spot #1 picks the games to consider for that week. For week 2, person #2 picks, and so on.
3. Game choices should be posted at some point on Tuesday. For that week's game schedule and odds, consult Yahoo! Sports.
4. If it is your turn to pick games: For Sunday games, choose two of the early slot games and two of the late slot games. Add to that any games not played during those two Sunday slots (inclusive of games on Sunday morning and/or nights). For point spreads that are whole numbers, add .5 (For example, a point spread of 3 becomes 3.5). If possible, try not to choose games with teams who have recently been picked often.
5. Once games are picked: List the team from each chosen game, in order, you think will beat the posted spread. Picks must be in one (1) hour before game time. For Thursday night games only, if you fail to choose a team, your pick will default to the home team.
6. In case of disputes, the thread moderator shall have the final say.
7. Please, no political discussions. There are many other threads for that.
