Isomet Corp. is a manufacturer of laser control devices. The Company's acousto-optic line is comprised of laser control devices and systems for applications that make use of lasers to process or communicate information through various forms of recorded images. Acousto-optics is the interaction between light and sound within a crystalline material that can be used to manipulate laser light for practical purposes. Acousto-optic technology is an essential element of image processing systems such as laser printers, laser film recorders, phototypesetters and laser-based inspection systems.
