On the last day of 1999, CoorsTek was spun off from ACX Technologies, which was spun off from Adolph Coors seven years earlier. The company was incorporated as Coors Porcelain in 1911 and before the spin-off was doing business as Coors Ceramics, a wholly owned subsidiary of ACX.
