It has come to my attention that the area of Calling Lake still remains somewhat of a mystery,...the diamond indicators according to the Saskatchewan Research Council have stated that so far the associated geochemical indicators are the "best" found so far in Alberta. The G-10 count continues to climb,....Lots of prospective targets in this area. The geochemical similarities to the Lac De Gras AREA ARE MOST INTERESTING as there is a Hartzburgite @ an Eclogitic component. There is the full spectrum of "Dims" (Diamond indicators) present. Namely G-10 Garnets(the highest count so far in Alberta)Eclogitic Garnets,Chromium Diopsides,Picroleminites,Olivines, the indicator minerals are angular and Sub-angular and some of the indicators have kelphetic rims,(both factors express that the indicators have distinctly come from a Native source rock,... and "Not Transported" by Glacial movement,...also most importantly is the 'amount of indicators found in some specific areas (Hundreds to Thousands in grain counts)this is phenomenal when you consider the best areas in the N.W.T(Dia-mets and Abers Ground)when 42 Kilogram samples were taken, the highest count areas were 650 grains in a till sample!!!! Also bear in mind,...the amount found in the Calling Lake area,.. is amazing also because diamond indicators usually virtually disintegrate and I believe the only reason they have survived in this area,...for so long is that they have possibly been nestled in the shoreline sand for 80-85 Million years,..and to my knowledge the amount found at this point is truly "unheard" of! Enough of the preamble! I just wanted to express my opinion of an area,...that in my opinion is the best geochemistry in Alberta to date, and I would like to hear other peoples opinions or sources of info,if anyone has any. Thank-you sincerely for your time. | ||||||||||||
