Devine Entertainment's films received three Daytime Emmys at the 26th Annual
Awards ceremony May 15. Galileo: On the Shoulders of Giants won for
outstanding writing in a children's special for the script by Heather Conkie and for
outstanding single camera photography by cinematographer Rick Maguire. Edison:
The Wizard of Light received the Emmy for outstanding achievement in sound
mixing for the team of Daniel Pellerin, Andrew Tay and Tony van den Akker.
Devine Entertainment was nominated for a total of nine Daytime Emmys.
Galileo: On the Shoulders of Giants and Edison: The Wizard of Light are both also
nominated for outstanding children's special. This category will be awarded during
the Daytime Emmy Awards live telecast on May 21. Both films, produced by
David Devine and Richard Mozer, premiered last year on HBO in the United
States and on Family Channel in Canada. Devine previously won a 1993
Primetime Emmy for Beethoven Lives Upstairs.
