FirstClass Systems is a leading developer and marketer of computer based training (CBT) designed for information technology professionals and desktop end users. Founded in 1987, FirstClass has its corporate offices in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. We also have sales offices in major urban centers throughout North America servicing over 3000 companies including AT&T and IBM, in addition to a network of international agents and distributors that sell our courseware to clients overseas.
FirstClass Systems has one of the largest courseware libraries in the industry. We develop courses in house and have formed strategic alliances with other top CBT developers from around the world to offer over 1000 titles in a wide range of topics. Our courses are designed to gain and maintain the interest of students by the extensive use of graphics and animation to illustrate and explain concepts, and by ensuring there is a high degree of interactivity with the learner. The course topics range from basic introductory desktop software programs such as word or wordperfect to high level programming languages.

FirstClass Systems has now completed development of its practical solution for distance learning using the Internet called EdStart Online. Using a combination of the Internet, FirstClass's web site, and current EdStart technology, students have access to more than 400 computer based training titles from any personal computer that has an burden for the customer. FirstClass's market is the pre-packaged CBT sector with a focus on the Information Technology Internet connection.
This breakthrough is in response to the growing market demand for Internet delivered training that does not carry with it a heavy administration (IT) worker. This is a large and fast growing sector. According to the International Data Corp. (IDC), a leading industry research firm, the 1996 global market for IT training had grown to $16.4-billion (U.S.) with the United States accounting for $7.1-billion (U.S.). IDC also assessed the U.S. technology based training market at $1.1-billion (U.S.) in 1996, with the forecast that it would grow to $4.1-billion (U.S.) by the year 2001.
IDC also stated that the sector that includes Internet delivered training and CBT is expected to grow at 30 per cent plus compounded annual growth rate from 1996 to 2001. In addition, in its 1997 Global IT survey, IDC reported that the lack of skilled technology professionals was rated by one in five top U.S. executives as the most serious constraint on growth. Within this exciting market more and more organizations are looking to provide "at the workstation" Internet delivered training while also reducing the cost of administering the training. EdStart Online meets these needs, and rounds out the range of best of breed CBT deployment options available from FirstClass.

The company recently completed an agreement to provide computer-based training to Raytheon. FirstClass has been working closely with Raytheon for several months to make cost-effective computer-based training available to its employees.

FirstClass Systems has becomes An Official "Microsoft Certified Solution Provider" (MCSP) as well as an IBM Supplier.

FirstClass Systems also offers Microsoft-certified courses.

In June 1998 Canadian Business Magazine, FirstClass is listed in the magazine's inaugural ranking of Canada's Top 100 largest, "hottest", publicly traded technology companies. The ranking is based on one-year sales growth and gross sales.

"This growth reflects FirstClass's determination to become the leading CBT provider in North America." said Mike Pate, vice-president of sales for FirstClass. "Our determination is evident in our recent decision to make the huge and fast growing pre-packaged CBT market sector our principal focus. As recent releases show, we are continually adding to our "best of breed" CBT course product range, our "best of breed" CBT deployment technologies, and our international channels partners network.
