ANTs, an acronym for asynchronous non-preemptive tasks, is a software development tool, written in JAVA --which enables programmers to write software for servers with one processor or thousands of processors. This proprietary technology will operate on any platform using Windows NT or any of the various flavors of Unix. ANTs is a programming technology that simplifies large complex systems, makes them more reliable, more efficient and easier to maintain. ANTs accomplishes this by facilitating the distribution of the control structures throughout the computation, eliminating the need for central control structures. The company has just taken a giant step with the appointment of John J. Wilczak, as its new chief executive officer and president. Mr. Wilczak, founded MetaCreations Corp. and its predecessor, HSC Software in 1992, quickly building an empire into one of the leading computer graphics companies in the world. This building process gave Mr. Wilczak a keen understanding of technology R&D. Mr. Wilczak, grew his former company's revenues from $4.5M to $69M in 1997, while being recognized by Price Waterhouse Coopers and Deloitte Touche for developing one of the fastest growing software technology companies in California. ANTs, has added another to its dream team--with the announcement of Dr. Peter Pattton as Chairman of the company's Technical Advisory Board. Dr. Patton brings to the table a resume of experience. Previously, he was founding director of the Minnesota Supercomputer Institue, vice president and director of the Parallel Processing Architecture Program at the Microelectronics and Computer Technology Consortium in Austin, Texas. Dr. Patton, is involved in the application of distributed object frameworks. He has stated “ANTs non-preemptive multi-tasking will have a big future in the distributed object computing environment of tomorrow's--virtual Internet worked enterprises that will encompass the entire future growth of the Internet”. It is anticipated that the availability of ANTs will enable larger and faster programs to be written for the 16-32 processor computers that are planned for delivery by the end of 1998. ANTs improves performance by allowing multiprocessors to use a maximum number of processors to cooperate to complete a given computation in the minimum time. Our company agrees with the “technology and survival of JAVA”, states Mr. Wilczak. ANTs will go a long way to improve the performance of JAVA . For example, a JAVA program compiled on ANTs ran four (4) times faster than its non-ANTs version Microsoft was one of the most important participants in the acceptance of JAVA as a new high level computer language (C and C+- are other high level languages). Recent differences between Microsoft and SUN have arisen when Microsoft created their own version of JAVA in violation of their license agreement with SUN Microsystems. **ANTs WILL WORK WITH EITHER VERSION With an estimated $300+ billion market, ANTs needs only a small percentage of this market to be very successful. ANTs represents a major breakthrough in the unfolding JAVA Age as it demonstrably enhances the programmers ability to write new software for these new multiprocessors.
