Strictly: Oil and Gas Exploration Companies

The Strictly Drilling thread has been around for quite awhile, and some SI members have suggested that we start a thread for the exploration and production companies. The streets are certainly bloody right now, but are we at the bottom? Many e&p companies are compelling values right now, but the same held true a few months back. Here we can discuss companies like APA, APC, OEI, UPR, BR, and many others. I've been invested in this sector for several years, but there's so much to learn... what is a reasonable cost of finding oil or gas, what does it cost to lift it, how do you tell which companies are quality companies and will appreciate vs. which companies are cheap and bound to get cheaper? Let's have intelligent, productive discussion here. And no cheap shots, OK?
