October 24, 1997 Biosafe International (BSFE) became Waste Systems International (WSII). Here is the press release: CAMBRIDGE, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 24, 1997--At the BioSafe International Inc. (NASDAQ:BSFE) Annual Shareholders' meeting today, the company announced that shareholders have approved reincorporation in Delaware and a corporate name change to Waste Systems International Inc. ("WSI"). The company also announced that it will change its NASDAQ stock symbol to WSII and will begin trading under the new symbol on Monday, October 27, 1997. Philip W. Strauss, BioSafe's chairman, president and chief executive officer commented, "This name change reflects the significant turnaround of BioSafe while focusing on building an integrated solid waste management company and executing our growth strategy of expanding our core presence in existing markets, such as in Vermont, as well as establishing positions in new markets. To this end, we have many exciting projects and/or acquisitions under development which will establish WSI as a leading solid waste management company in New England and the Mid-Atlantic states." WSI is an innovative solid waste management company.
