I have been following TUD for years because I have a decant stake in its JV partner on Treaty Creek, Teuton Resources. There is one big problem the author doesn't mention, that it appears that neighbuoring Seabridge has a valid claim on land that TUD would need to develop Treaty Creek, even before the tailings location issue e does mention.

Among those of us who have been following TUO and TUD, our hope is that SEA will buy Treaty Creek, or that a larger company buys both SEA's KSM deposit and Treaty Creek. Both TUD and TUO have been positioning themselves for this the last few years via divestitures and spun out companies.

Would I buy more TUO or TUD right now? Probably not, but I am in TUO from a much lower price.

In my view, there are so many different complaints about how the French economic system operates (including immigration) that it must be hard for anyone to see a way out of the massive street demonstrations without risking more chaos and watching it spread to other parts of Europe.

This may become the biggest continental crisis since WWII. While it will be good for metals and mining shares, no one should want their investments in this sector to gain in this way.

As for the bit about gold retaining its reserve status, here’s an example of why that is happening, among other things.

Bond yields continued to grab attention this week, with 10-year and 30-year bond yields making new highs.

I have spoken on how the US is increasingly cornered by its excessive debt load, ramping interest expense, and out of control deficits. While I was unable to attend Beaver Creek in Denver this year, I had many friends who did and I was told I must watch a keynote presentation by Grant Williams on gold reasserting itself at the top of the financial asset pyramid. He spoke about how no government or, even less, no central banker is going to voluntarily cede control of the monetary order back to gold, unless they are forced to.

Well, bond yields and the pending reckoning of the US fiscal situation is likely in the process of doing this now. For those that want to understand more, watch this video below.

On the week, gold was flat closing at $4,173. Silver was down 5.9% to just under $61 per oz, while copper was flat at $6.59 per pound. Mining shares, as measured by GDXJ, were down 6.2% on the week and are now flat YTD.

Many of you have already seen my 'Buy Canada Now' missive from last week. One of my eagle-eyed viewers noticed that on my list of top advanced-stage resource holdings, I had not included Maple Gold (MGM). This was clearly an error on my part, as Maple is one of my largest and highest-conviction Canadian holdings. So much so, in fact, that they are touring all five European cities with me as part of my mining tour later this month.

On the news front, it was a very quiet week. The one highlight of the week was a terrific drill result, one of the best ever holes drilled, on the Carmacks property from Cascadia Minerals (CAM), which shows this deposit is growing really fast and the grades are getting better.

Cascadia continues to impress, with terrific drill results that are rapidly expanding the scale of Carmacks, with the best hole I have seen to date on the project with a major step out further connecting the 2000S zone to the 140 zone. That now extends 350m to the East of 2000S zone towards the 140 zone.

For perspective, the total strike of the 2000S zone, one of the primary resource areas in the current resource, is 350m. So Cascadia has effectively 2X the strike of the 2000S zone, but even better the grades and widths they are seeing in these step out holes are substantially better than what they have at 2000S, implying even greater resource growth than just a 2X.

Finally, as mentioned previously, there is no better place to find your highest grade step out mineralization than in between your two main resource blocks with planned underground development already driving through your new discovery area.

Very excited to have both Graham and Andrew of Cascadia with me for all five days of my European tour. With only a $100M CAD market cap, this will be a new name for the vast majority of the investors we will meet and I expect it to be very well received.

Additionally, in their most recent communication about this acquisition, they referred to the whole area as a "caldera." Their maps show that they have acquired a substantial portion of the caldera rim.

For those not understanding what this means, here's what my just now AI search came up with for "Caldera theory as related to exploration mining."

Short version -
A caldera is a large depression formed by the collapse of a volcano after a massive eruption, and it often hosts rich mineral deposits due to hydrothermal processes. Calderas can be significant sources of metals like lead, silver, gold, and lithium, making them important in mineralogy.

Let me address the second part of that first, the timeline. You may have noted from recent Blackrock news that they newly acquired additional claims northwest of where they have been working. They may want drill at least some of this before actively trying to sell the Tonopah project, though they could start getting buyout offers from early next year, I think. As you may know, the board must present all reasonable offers to the shareholders. They have no choice. It's part of their cost for being a public company.

If and when the company sells off this project, they had planned and publicly claimed they intended of spin off the Silver Cloud project into a separate company before concluding a sale of the Tonopah claims. At that point, they would give existing shareholders "free" shares in the new company on a one-for-one basis, leaving the new company with enough cash to pay for all further exploration and development at Silver Cloud.

But things can change. Tonopah is looking so much better all the time, I'm thinking they could reverse that plan by advancing Silver Cloud to the point of sale and then dump that money into development and production costs at Tonopah.

Nothing is ever certain in this sector. Surprises abound, from shocking good to horrible.

Good morning,

The US$ is trading up to 101.361. The Fed's nominal broad US dollar index is at 120.3300.

Energy is lower today with WTIC, Brent and natgas down by 2.46% 1.70% and 1.77%. Natgas is trading at $3.053.

Gold futures are positive, up 0.45, while silver futures are negative, down 0.69%.

Copper is lower by 0.26%, trading at $6.6163.

Platinum and palladium are down by 2.61% and 0.41%.

Good morning,

The US $ is trading up to 101.229. The Fed's nominal broad US dollar index is at 119.51 and is updated today.

Oil is positive while the remainder of the commodity complex is negative. WTIC and Brent are higher by 1.95% and 1.26%. Natgas is lower by 3.06%, trading at $3.129.

Gold and silver are getting hit and are down by 3.24% and 4.75%.

Copper is lower by 2.13% trading at $6.6203.

Platinum and palladium are down by 3.07% and 4.68%.

Iran stuck to its seven-day proposal for reopening the crucial Strait of Hormuz, saying it won’t soften its conditions, while Donald Trump sent mixed signals about his willingness to reach a deal. He told Axios that Tehran has overplayed its hand but added that he expects negotiations to resume this week. Adding to tensions, UK police are investigating a potential terror plot after five men were arrested near an air base used in US strikes against Iran.

The jitters reverberated through markets, sending brent crude prices back up through $108 a barrel and reigniting inflation worries. Treasuries resumed a selloff that pushed yields to multiyear highs last week, while US stock futures slumped.
