Officials confirmed the space potty could still be used for number two, just not for number one.

Artemis II suffers embarrassing toilet issue just hours after moon launch

**Apparently Koch had the smallest bladder

[Savant] Reporting toilet not working.....oh shit...or no shit hope they don't have to '...

Reporting toilet not working.....oh shit...or no shit

hope they don't have to 'hold it' for 10 days....

water tank prob too

[Savant] SpaceX confirmed that on Sunday, March 29, 2026, Starlink satellite 34343 experi...

SpaceX confirmed that on Sunday, March 29, 2026, Starlink satellite 34343 experienced an "on-orbit anomaly" that resulted in a total loss of communications. While SpaceX has not explicitly stated the satellite is "in pieces," independent tracking data and the company's own monitoring of "trackable debris" strongly suggest a fragmentation event.

Key Details of the Incident

Debris Detection: The space-tracking firm LeoLabs reported detecting "tens of objects" in the immediate vicinity of the satellite shortly after the anomaly.

Altitude: The event occurred at approximately 560 kilometers (347 miles) above Earth.

Likely Cause: Preliminary analysis by LeoLabs suggests the fragmentation was caused by an internal energetic source, such as a battery or propulsion tank failure, rather than a collision with an external object.

Orbital Risk: SpaceX and NASA analysis indicates there is no immediate threat to the International Space Station (ISS), its crew, or the upcoming Artemis II mission scheduled for April 1.
Engadget +5

Context and Trends
This is the second significant Starlink fragmentation event in less than four months. A similar incident involving Starlink-35956 occurred in mid-December 2025, which also generated a debris field before the satellite eventually re-entered the atmosphere and burned up.
satnews.com +3

In response to these incidents and increasing orbital congestion, SpaceX announced plans throughout 2026 to lower approximately 4,400 satellites from the 550-km shell to 480 km. This lower altitude increases atmospheric drag, ensuring that any future debris or failed satellites de-orbit much faster—typically within weeks rather than months

[Savant] RT...Artemis launch...part of return to moon...eventually...SpaceX might be invo...

RT...Artemis launch...part of return to moon...eventually...SpaceX might be involved

Artemis II lifts off! Robinhood and SoFi have both pitched for roles on the deal but SpaceX is considering cutting them out altogether, the people said, asking not to be identified because the talks are private. It's an unusual omission for platforms that have become fixtures in marquee listings, including the $55 billion IPO for Arm Holdings' and $9.9 billion debut of Instacart in 2023, even as underwriters are expected to funnel retail demand through their own channels.

Morgan Stanley, which is a lead underwriter on the deal, is expected to route a significant portion of shares set aside for smaller-ticket U.S. retail investors through its own brokerage platform E*Trade, potentially crowding out rival brokerage firms Robinhood and SoFi, according to the two people familiar with the matter. The two firms, which aren’t tied to any of the banks underwriting the deal, remain in discussions to handle some of the sales, both people said. All three platforms primarily handle smaller-ticket retail orders

Exclusive-E*Trade in talks to lead SpaceX IPO share sale to small investors in US, sources say

***not for widows & orphans...IMHO

[Savant] SpaceX Eyes Record IPO Filing This Week at Up to $1.75T Valuation The potential...

SpaceX Eyes Record IPO Filing This Week at Up to $1.75T Valuation

The potential offering comes as SpaceX's valuation has soared on the back of its Starlink satellite internet service and repeated successful launches of the Falcon 9 rocket. The modification allows second stage engines to ignite before separation, a maneuver designed to create a smoother and more controlled stage transition but one that requires precise venting and shielding to avoid catastrophic failure. This shift signals that SpaceX is accelerating toward a more aggressive launch profile rather than playing it safe. With repairs complete and hardware stacking up at Starbase, everything now hinges on whether this new system performs under real flight conditions. The next launch will not just be another test — it will determine how quickly Starship can evolve

The next starship flight won’t look like the last – here’s why | Watch

[Savant] SpaceX launches 12th long-duration crew to the ISS A SpaceX rocket soared into ...

SpaceX launches 12th long-duration crew to the ISS

A SpaceX rocket soared into orbit from Florida early on Friday (February 13) with a crew of two U.S. NASA astronauts, a French astronaut and a Russian cosmonaut headed to the International Space Station for an eight-month science mission in microgravity. To harness even a millionth of our Sun’s energy would require over a million times more energy than our civilization currently uses,” said SpaceX.

[kidl] SpaceX has stopped Russia's 'unauthorised' use of Starlink against Ukraine, Musk...

SpaceX has stopped Russia's 'unauthorised' use of Starlink against Ukraine, Musk says - France 24

[Savant] Airplanes Dodge The Remains Of Exploding SpaceX Rockets **The article does not ...

Airplanes Dodge The Remains Of Exploding SpaceX Rockets

**The article does not mention NOTAM (Notice to Airmen) notices that SpaceX and the FAA put out about a week before the launch that specifies the areas of danger. The network, called TeraWave, will feature 5,408 satellites that aim to meet increasing demand for space-based communication. It marks a big expansion by the company, which has until now been focused on suborbital space tourism and the development of its heavy-lift New Glenn rocket.

The competition: Interestingly, Amazon has a satellite venture called Leo, which was started under Bezos as Project Kuiper (coming merger or partnerships?). Elsewhere, AST SpaceMobile ( ASTS), which is involved in the space-based connectivity market, tumbled 8% on the TeraWave news. However, the biggest real rival is Starlink ( STRLK), which was founded by tech billionaire Elon Musk. Starlink already has 9,000 satellites in orbit, which have been instrumental in providing internet service across the globe, and doubled its customer base to 9M active subscribers over the past year.

The services are still a bit different. Blue Origin's TeraWave, which is targeting deployment for the fourth quarter of 2027, is being designed to serve data centers, enterprise users, and governments. Its system will provide whopping data speeds of up to 6 terabits per second through a multi-orbit approach. In contrast, Starlink primarily serves the mass market with internet and phone services, with overall lower speeds and data applications.

How they work: Starlink's Low Earth Orbit [LEO] satellites use radio frequency [RF] connectivity. It's ideal for the public, as transmissions can pass through the atmosphere with very low latency. TeraWave is aiming for a hybrid network of LEO and Medium Earth Orbit [MEO] satellites. These can transmit data in the skies and to ground stations at an extremely high bandwidth by adding in infrared lasers (optical) that are highly secure and don't need spectrum licenses.

[kidl] Still no fix :-( Iran’s internet shutdown crippled Starlink and why the world s...

Still no fix :-(

Iran’s internet shutdown crippled Starlink and why the world should care - Rest of World

[Ron] Space X approved for 7,500 more satellites, and China plans to launch 200,000......

Space X approved for 7,500 more satellites, and China plans to launch 200,000... it's getting crowded up there: archive.ph

[Savant] ‘Kill Switch’—Iran Shuts Down Starlink Internet For First Time ‘Kill Switch’—Ir...

‘Kill Switch’—Iran Shuts Down Starlink Internet For First Time

‘Kill Switch’—Iran Shuts Down Starlink Internet For First Time

[Selectric II] [X]

Fired from 36,000 km above Earth, this silent tech breakthrough is shaking up the future of space internet, military comms, and deep space links.

To address this, researchers from Peking University and the Chinese Academy of Sciences developed a combined approach, called AO-MDR synergy, which dynamically corrects distorted laser beams in real time. Using an array of 357 micro-mirrors inside a 1.8-meter telescope at the Lijiang Observatory, the system reshaped incoming light, then split the corrected signal into eight separate channels via a multi-plane light converter. A real-time algorithm selected the three strongest for decoding.

That technique lifted the usable signal rate to 91.1%, significantly improving upon the 72% baseline reported in earlier systems, as documented in the peer-reviewed study published in Acta Optica Sinica.

The system’s most striking feature is its efficiency. The laser downlink operated using only 2 watts of power, which is comparable to a small nightlight. From geostationary orbit, that signal achieved a downlink speed of 1 gigabit per second (Gbps)—a performance level that, for now, places it far ahead of most commercial satellite internet services.

Starlink, by comparison, uses low Earth orbit satellites around 550 km high and requires an intricate network of thousands of fast-moving spacecraft to deliver service. Its current average download speeds hover near 67 megabits per second (Mbps), depending on location and network congestion.

China Satellite Obliterates Starlink Using a Dim 2-Watt Laser Fired from 36,000 KM in Space

[pocotrader] is musk going to launch them in space?

[Heywood40] Sad. It never came even close to that.

The automaker is extremely opaque about its sales data, bundling Model S, Model X, and Cybertruck sales together.

However, based on registration data and historical split of Model S/X sales, we can estimate that Tesla is having issues selling even 20,000 Cybertrucks per year – less than 10% of its planned capacity.

By definition, the Cybertruck is a commercial flop.

Tesla boasted over 1 million reservations for the vehicle ahead of production, but it is estimated to have converted only about 60,000 of those reservations into orders since production began more than 2 years ago.

There are many reasons for this, but it is primarily because the Cybertruck costs much more than initially announced at the unveiling in 2019 and has less range and fewer cool features than the prototype.

The Cybertruck was originally supposed to have a tailgate that doubles as a ramp. The production version is not equipped with that. SpaceX to the rescue Earlier this year, we reported that Tesla started delivering truckloads of Cybertrucks to SpaceX and xAI, Elon Musk’s privately owned companies.

Now, a source familiar with the matter told Electrek that SpaceX bought over 1,000 Cybertrucks from Tesla and that it could ramp up to about 2,000 over time.

Hundreds of Cybertrucks can currently be seen parked in SpaceX’s lots in Southern Texas:

Top comment by Sandhu

Liked by 12 people

You have to wonder what other tricks they pulled in the last quarter in order to pad their already abysmal sales.

View all comments

With a base price of $80,000, it would represent between $80 million and $160 million in sales.

It would be a significant help to Tesla’s performance in the fourth quarter, as the automaker is suffering from EV incentives ending in the US at the end of the third quarter, which remains Tesla’s most important market.

Electrek’s Take

SpaceX has been helping out Elon’s other companies quite a bit lately. It has reportedly committed to invest $2 billion into xAI, which is burning cash at an insane rate. Now, they are buying tens of millions to over a hundred million worth of Cybertruck, which are sitting in Tesla’s inventory, making its 4th quarter look even worse than it already is.

Can’t blame him here. This is legal. Although SpaceX investors might have concerns about how smart a purchase this is and what the utilization rate of those trucks looks like.

electrek.co

[Eric] Welcome to the board. In April, the company reported an $8 billion unrealized gain linked to a private holding, widely assumed to be SpaceX ( SPACE), after a tender offer late last year implied a valuation of about $350 billion.
