That is the thing few seem to grasp - the chances of one of these guys coming out on top is slim. One might get a bit ahead but the remaining six will have a bigger market share.
Of course Elmo could buy up the competition or do his best to destroy it.
But this is not just one country and China could well pull off AI advancement in the same way they lead the world in auto manufacturing.
1/2 the worlds electricity could go to AI? That is absolutely insane.
And of course we have quantum computers that at some point will make data centres redundant at some point.
Chasing AI is kinda nuts - much like joining a death cult. Then we agreed that since according to the prospectus the AI business is expected to be by far the main money-earner for SpaceX, competition with the other huge companies in the same business makes the projected earning rate highly unlikely to be achieved. I ended by asking if a non-insider should participate in the IPO. After some blah-blah about not giving investment advice, I got this:

"However, looking at this strictly through the lens of a clinical, risk-averse financial analyst, if I were in your shoes, I would absolutely stay far away from this IPO."

Not that I needed to be told this, but I was interested to see what Gemini would say.

[koan] Well, we sort of have the moment of truth for silver. The Japanese usually sell bonds to buy yen below 160?

I am sticking to my guess that silver holds around $70, but we shall soon see.

For the moment silver is just moving in tandem with gold and PGM's, and against a stronger dollar, but as the dollar is strong because the market thinks oil prices will stay high for a while, that would mean more inflation.

And inflation usually means a rise in the metals?

[Pianoman1997] «Commodity stocks getting smacked down today - my PF is a sea of RED.» Yeah, a ...

«Commodity stocks getting smacked down today - my PF is a sea of RED.»

Yeah, a bad day for commodity investors. Rather than using the traditional core price index for personal consumption expenditures (Core PCE), which excludes volatile food and energy items, Warsh prefers using "trimmed mean" or "median" inflation gauges. [ 1, 2]
Here are the specific details of his approach:

What it is: Trimmed mean and median inflation measures remove extreme outliers, both abnormally high and abnormally low price changes. [ 1]

The Goal: Warsh argues this helps the central bank understand the underlying inflation trend rather than reacting to temporary, one-time price spikes caused by geopolitical shocks, tariffs, or supply chain issues. [ 1, 2]

Current Alternatives: Both the Dallas Fed Trimmed Mean PCE and the Cleveland Fed Median PCE are official Federal Reserve tools that provide these alternative calculations. [ 1, 2, 3]

The Impact: These alternative measures can reflect a lower, more favorable inflation rate than headline or core indexes. For example, when core inflation has run higher, trimmed mean measures have frequently provided a cooler reading. [ 1, 2]

I can dive deeper into these metrics for you. Not a smear job. Sudbury area.

Only 16.5 m shares out, so ballpark mkt cap of $7 mil with an old mine and more holes coming. Bit weird in that this is an historic hole and part of a data set the co. bought in February. 2 more holes coming and I would have to believe a PP should be in the works. The terms and the participants may be a big factor on how the stock does short term. Some board changes came with the vending of this data, so looks like the stock is getting rebuilt. Who knows what is in the next holes, they have drilled some good hits in the past. I just think downside vs upside at a $7m mkt cap is a reasonable speculation.

[31Floors] Arg was a great call, MAI an equal and opposite! The F35 needs a lot more costly maintenance and a bunch of the soft wear is under US control - not want you want in a sovereign country.

Spending less of our money in the US makes a lot of sense - make them want us to buy from them instead of acting like it is a given that we will purchase from them.

In the news msn.com

[koan] Knitting together the new world order is going to affect the worldwide economics...

Knitting together the new world order is going to affect the worldwide economics and geopolitical landscape.

The Swedish PM just went on the news joking about Canada joining the EU. He said the EU:"was a very welcoming club"

As well, I think Sweden and Canada will start building Gripens together in Canada and Canada will not buy all the F-35.

Alexander Stubb, the president of Finland and Carney are BFF's, and have many deals in the works..

Mette Frederickson, the Prime minister of Denmark and Carney are also BFF's and she is forever grateful to him for being among the first world leaders to stand up to Trump saying:" Canada stands with Greenland and Denmark. And they are also working together to be a world leader in building wind energy.

Norway and Germany just came to Canada's rescue when Trump pulled out of an 87 year arctic defense alliance, trying to force Canada to buy all the F-35"s, by giving Canada their places in the building line for new state of the art submarines, and saying the three countries would work as one country defending the arctic.

So, I think Canada will be joining the EU very soon.

This means much of the exports Canada had been sending to the US often at a discount, will now be going to Europe e.g. oil, LNG, aluminum, uranium rare earths and potash, etc.

And Canada is now spending billions improving the rail to Churchhill for a short trip to Europe.

This sort of abandonment of the US is also happening in Japan and South Korea, as they increase their ties with Europe.

All of this plus the worldwide selling of America in general and treasury bonds in particular, e.g. Japan, China and the UK, should cause real problems in the US funding its debt going forward, and causing, inflation, rising interest rates and a falling dollar.

And those events should cause gold and silver to rise going forward.

[ralfph] ARG - I am not sure who dragged it on the bus but I am thankful they did.
