What a sad society the US has become.

The Nazification of US Domestic Policy

by Janet Phelan

Monday, Aug 11, 2025 - 19:38

In the opening address to the Second International Congress of Eugenics in 1923, Henry F. Osborn, then president of the American Museum of Natural History in New York stated,

In the US we are slowly waking to the consciousness that education and environment do not fundamentally alter racial values. We are engaged in a serious struggle to maintain our historic republican institutions through barring the entrance of those unfit to share in the duties and responsibilities of our well-founded government.?…?In the matter of racial virtues, my opinion is that from biological principles there is little promise in the melting-pot theory. Put three races together (Caucasian, Mongolian, and the Negroid) you are likely to unite the vices of all three as the virtues.?…?For the worlds work give me a pure-blooded?…?ascertain through observation and experiment what each race is best fitted to accomplish.?…?If the Negro fails in government, he may become a fine agriculturist or a fine mechanic.?…?The right of the state to safeguard the character and integrity of the race or races on which its future depends is, to my mind, as incontestable as the right of the state to safeguard the health and morals of its peoples.”

According to an article by Steven Farber and archived here U.S. Scientists' Role in the Eugenics Movement (1907–1939): A Contemporary Biologist's Perspective

“...many intellectuals and political leaders (e.g., Alexander Graham Bell, Winston Churchill, John Maynard Keynes, and Woodrow Wilson) accepted the notion that modern societies, as a matter of policy, should promote the improvement of the human race through various forms of governmental intervention. While initially this desire was manifested as the promotion of selective breeding, it ultimately contributed to the intellectual underpinnings of state-sponsored discrimination, forced sterilization, and genocide. “

It is a truism that the eugenics movement, initiated in America, was picked up on and pursued by Adolph Hitler, through first the mass killing of the mentally disabled, known as the T-4 program, and later through extermination policies targeting racial groups. The focus of this article is the similarities between the T-4 program and current US policy.

There are two programs currently up and running which impact the viability of the US elderly and disabled. One is the adult guardianship program, run through the state courts. The other is the physician assisted death program, also a state matter. Both programs target the elderly and disabled, though one program, the physician assisted death program, currently passed into law and thus legal in twelve states, explicitly is dedicated to killing the elderly and disabled while the other, the adult guardianship program, appears on the surface to protect and “guard” the elderly and disabled. However, this apparent conflict is non- existent and both programs seek to destroy the target populations.

While the Government Accountability Office has admitted, in several published reports, that elder abuse by guardians exists, Elder Abuse: The Extent of Abuse by Guardians Is Unknown, but Some Measures Exist, it to Help Protect Older Adults | U.S. GAO it has carefully sidestepped the “judge problem” in these cases. In reality, all the corrupt and abusive actions by a guardian must be approved by a judge. In addition, while guardianship abuse has been covered in a number of mainstream publications, including The New Yorker How the Elderly Lose Their Rights | The New Yorker and the Wall Street Journal Abuses Plague Guardianship Systems Across the Country - WSJ, these articles specifically exclude focus on the judges, often offering an apologia for their actions by stating the judges are simply “overworked.” To do otherwise would pave the way for an understanding that the US government is involved.

THE T-4 PROGRAM IN HITLER’S GERMANY

According to Wikipedia, "Aktion T4 (German, pronounced [ak'tsi?o?n te? fi??]) was a campaign of mass murder by involuntary euthanasia which targeted people with disabilities and the mentally ill in Nazi Germany. The term was first used in post- war trials against doctors who had been involved in the killings. [4] The name T4 is an abbreviation of Tiergartenstraße 4, a street address of the Chancellery department set up in early 1940, in the Berlin borough of Tiergarten, which recruited and paid personnel associated with Aktion T4. [5] Certain German physicians were authorised to select patients "deemed incurably sick, after most critical medical examination" and then administer to them a "mercy death" (Gnadentod). [7] In October 1939, Adolf Hitler signed a "euthanasia note", backdated to 1 September 1939, which authorised his physician Karl Brandt and Reichsleiter Philipp Bouhler to begin the killing."

Hitler made an effort to hide the extermination of ethnic Germans through T-4 which killed approximately 300,000 people. He did so in the following ways:

The involved institutions were instructed to falsify the death records. Bogus causes of death were assigned to the murdered. This practice is significant and is reflected in current US practices, as we will see shortly. In addition, the families of the exterminated were told that their loved ones had passed due to natural causes.

The involved parties, such as doctors, nurses and government officials, were encouraged to relay false information as to the status of the patients to their families. The involved parties were encouraged to present their killing centers as rehabilitation centers, not only to family members but also to those in the communities, According to Wikipedia, “ Families were sent letters explaining that owing to wartime regulations, it was not possible for them to visit relatives in these centres. Most of these patients were killed within 24 hours of arriving at the centers and their bodies cremated.” Aktion T4 - Wikipedia

These false presentations are replicated currently in the US.

FALSE DEATH RECORDS IN THE US

In accordance with the aims of Hitler’s euthanasia program, the physician assisted death program in the US allows for the recording of false causes of death. For example, the state of Vermont reports that the underlying disease is reported in 100% of the cases of those ingesting poison, per the end of life protocols passed into law, and does not report the ingestion of poison/life ending drugs as the cause of death.

According to the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops, “In Oregon, doctors list the underlying illness as the cause of death on the death certificate; in Washington this falsified report is explicitly required by law.” Assisted_Suicide_States_Safeguards.pdf

Alex Schadenberg, head of the Euthanasia Prevention Coalition, writes that “Every state that has legalized assisted suicide lists the cause of death as the reason for approving assisted suicide rather than the real cause of death, that being assisted suicide.

“Everyone wants to hide the reality of killing people.

”They claim it is based on privacy, but that is completely false because a death certificate is not available to the public.”

Equally, we are not seeing where the true aims of the court authorized adult guardianship programs are generally discussed or revealed. The courts and guardians are going to considerable lengths to conceal their actual aims. One need only to review the court’s decision in the Florida Rebecca Fierle case to see where the penalties afforded an individual who was caught terminating the life of her ward are minimal. Pleading “No Contest” to charges of abuse and neglect, Fierle received no jail time and four years of probation for her part in terminating Steven Stryker’s life. ITeam: Notorious guardian receives 'unbelievable' sentence

When probate attorney J. David Horspool and guardian Margaret Updike decided to let their father’s pacemaker run down and therefore cause Raymond Horspool’s death, they were not even criminally charged, THE JUSTICE CHANNEL: Elder Law Attorney Sued for Wrongful Death of His Father

A recent correspondence between this reporter and guardian Barbara Gingrande, questioning her treatment of her ward, Muriel Frank, came to naught when Gingrande refused to reply.

On Monday, June 16, 2025 at 02:24:37 PM CST, Janet Phelan < janet_c_phelan@yahoo.com> wrote:

Dear Barbara,

My name is Janet Phelan and I am a widely published journalist and author. I was forwarded the following email to you, and wanted to reach out to you for your comments.

I have covered guardianships for some years now and while I understand that caring for an elderly person has certain inherent challenges, I must of necessity ask for your thinking here. Forcing someone to evacuate their bowels in their pants is not a humane action to take. While I understand from Alicia that the aides may not be able to put Muriel on the commode, it seems hiring other help may address this issue.

It appears that Alicia is also raising concerns about her mother being tied tightly to the chair. Is this, in your estimation, absolutely necessary? Please share your thoughts on this.

Finally, I understand that Muriel is experiencing a lessening of vision. Has she been taken to an ophthalmologist? There are so many really wondrous advancements in medicine of late and we all want Muriel to be in the best shape possible, do we not?

Please get back to me with your thoughts on this, By the way, I was able to zoom into the hearing recently on the Frank conservatorship and I am planning an article on this particular case.

Thank you,

Janet Phelan

(Below is the email from Alicia Frank, which prompted the inquiry)

Hello Barbara,

Yesterday, upon mom hearing my voice as soon as I walked in, mom yelled out, Alicia, help me, help me, I am being strapped in very tightly. I cannot breathe or move.

As you know, ever since I bought mom the floor bicycle, mom has now been gaining strength in her arms (via the small weights) and legs, which was the purpose of the floor bicycle, as my mother can walk, with the proper exercise and support from those around her.

My mother has been trying more and more to stand up on her own, of which she should be applauded for and encouraged to do so. I watched with my own eyes, yesterday, my mother attempt to use her arms, after she wiggled to the front of the wheelchair, to stand up on her own, without even being prompted to do so.

However, as you must know, mom still needs assistance to stand up. She will do it eventually, the more she practices using the small weights that I have given her, along with using the floor bicycle every day.

HOWEVER, FOR YOU TO INSRUCT THE AIDES TO PREVENT HER FROM STANDING/WALKING BY INSERTING A VERY TIGHT SAFETY BELT AROUND HER WAIST, SO THAT SHE CANNOT EVEN BREATHE, OR MOVE AROUND ON THE WHEELCHAIR IS EXTREMELY ABUSIVE BEHAVIOR, BARBARA. I WILL MAKE SURE THAT EVERYONE KNOWS ABOUT THIS.

Your restrictions are extremely abusive, not only with myself, by telling the aides that I must wear sneakers to push my mother even in her own home in the wheelchair, but by also strapping my mother into the wheelchair so tightly that she cannot move nor breathe properly, is unreasonable and extremely abusive.

The more my mother takes steps to improve her life, the more, it seems, that you wish to set mom back by holding her efforts back. Are you afraid that if she gets better, she may not even need a guardian perhaps, which she never needed from the get-go?

I have been telling my mother since I bought the floor bicycle for her, to practice standing, so that the aides can allow mom to use the toilet or the commode, as opposed to YOU forcing mom to do her business in her pants, as you have continued to instruct the aides to enforce as well. This is also extremely abusive.

Now, with being strapped tightly to the back of the wheel chair and telling her to have a bowel movement in the same position is so abusive, that I am going to call DCF and OPPG on you, for forcing my mother to live in pain, as mom was screaming yesterday from the pain from the very tight safety belt around her waist, when I walked in. My mother begged me to find a scissor and cut this strap off, preventing her from moving and breathing properly.

After assessing the situation, LOUISE, mom’s aide, PUT ON THE BELT SO TIGHTLY, THAT MOM HAD NO ROOM TO EVEN MOVE ON THE WHEELCHAIR. Is this what you want Barbara?

I want the abuse of my mother stopped immediately Barbara.

The aides should be helping mom to stand, each time that my mother tries to stand on her own, as she has been doing everyday now, as opposed to restricting her movement. You are for sure sadistic as everyone can see that.

Upon my mother telling me that she is strapped into the chair, I will be calling the police, just fyi.

The aides should be close enough to mom to watch her if she is trying to stand; otherwise, what are they doing there? Are not aides in place to aide my mother to make progress in her life, or are they there to tie her to the chair and talk on their phones, or study for their classes, as Louise does all day long, while mom is in extreme discomfort?

If the aide needs to use the bathroom, of course, they could put the belt on with breathing room and then remove the belt when they come out of the restroom, as the only example that I can think of, where they can put it on loosely.

Mom’s independent living skills must be encouraged, as my mother can now hold her own coffee cup, drink from the cup and put it back on the table all on her own, as with the grace of God, she is getting stronger and learning more independent living skills, thank God, despite the fact, that her vision is completely gone, due to your not taking mom to see an ophthalmologist. When I lived with mom, she still had her ability to see everything around her, as she also was able to walk around her home. Mom was fully functional when I lived with her, except for the last few months, when mom was using a wheel chair, due to tripping over the open dishwasher door, that the aide left open. Mom should have been given a PT after I was thrown to the streets; however, her previous guardian chose to tell the aides never to help mom to stand up at all, instead??

She is certainly not going to get stronger with your aides ignoring her wishes, nor responding to her, and telling her to calm down and go have a bowel movement in your pants, while she is physically restrained!!!

I want this behavior stopped immediately, or I will ensure that your license is taken away from you for enforcing abusive behavior.

Louise is only a Nazi soldier, who will do anything that she is told to do, even if it is abusive, as she has instructed me, that it is her job to follow orders, no matter what that order is?????????????? She will not use discernment nor her brain at all. She told me that YOU BARBARA told her to strap my mother to the wheelchair very tightly, so that mom cannot move, which is cruel and unusual punishments directed at my mother, who never asked for any of this insanity in her life. My mother deserves a lot better.

Thank you for removing this safety belt from my mother’s waist, especially; whereby, it so tight, that mom cannot breathe, plus cannot even move around the chair, nor even have a BM in her pants as YOU instructed her to do.

The purpose of mom trying to stand is to gain independence, so that mom can use the commode on her own eventually; however, initially, she can at least stand up, for the aides to remove or lower her pants, and then to clean her up, after she uses the commode.

My mother’s walker is in the right walk-in closet in the master bedroom, which should be taken out for mom to use now or attempt to use.

Try to do your job, Barbara, by protecting my mothers’ rights to freedom and movement on her own.

Thank you.

Sincerely,

Alicia S. Frank, MA, LMHC

This reporter then contacted Gingrande’s attorney, John Seller, who inadvertently revealed his primary motivation in this case, which is apparently financial. After offering to run her request to speak with him by the judge, and being challenged as to the necessity of getting the judge’s permission to answer the questions initially posed to the guardian, Seller snarled at this reporter that she wasn’t “paying him” for his time, so why would he provide any information, including the alleged legal necessity of getting a judge’s approval in order to answer some basic questions as to Muriel’s care.

Here is the thread with attorney Seller (emphasis added):

On Thursday, July 10, 2025 at 04:26:20 PM CST, Seiler, John P. < jseiler@sszrlaw.com> wrote:

Since I am not getting paid to do your legal work and I am certainly not getting paid to be interviewed by journalists, the answer is "I do mind".

As you know, my primary responsibility is legally representing the Court appointed guardian and, together, my client and I are focused on the best interests of the Ward.

My client and I don't seek, and won't seek, to be paid, compensated or reimbursed for fees, costs or expenses that are not consistent with our duties and responsibilities under Florida law.

As such, communicating with the media, a journalist, or an author needs to be consistent with our duties and responsibilities if I am to spend any more time on this alleged exchange.

As a courtesy to you, I offered a solution that would not be too time consuming (or time wasting). The figure meant the amount of money needed to take care of those 70,000 people for the next ten years. 885,439,800 marks – this was the cost of 70 273 lives, around 12 000 for one live in Nazi Germany. A separate section of that notorious report included the number of eggs, potatoes, meat, butter, and even marmalade that would be presumably saved. “

The financial impetus behind the adult guardianship program in the US has been repeatedly noted. Dr. Sam Sugar, author of Guardianships and the Elderly: The Perfect Crime Amazon.com: Guardianships and the Elderly: The Perfect Crime: 9780757004339: Sugar, Sam MD, Sugar MD, Sam: Books, discusses guardianships as revealing the tactics of “isolate, medicate, steal the estate.” Guardianships are known to be very expensive, with the guardians and their attorneys charging the estate for every twirl of a pen and every court appearance. Allegations that guardianship judges receive kickbacks and bribes are also at play. (DOC) Why Legal Reform Doesn't Work by Janet Phelan

In addition, the practices launched with the T-4 program included harvesting the gold from the teeth of the murdered. According to this article, Nazi dental gold - Wikiwand “The collection of gold dental fillings, dental caps and dentures extracted from the mouths of the victims of Aktion T4 and the Nazi concentration camps was a feature of the Holocaust. The practice originated with a 1940 order from Heinrich Himmler, and reinforced by a second order in 1942. [1] The collection was done with the active and voluntary cooperation of German dentists. [2] Dentists involved in the collection of gold included Martin Hellinger. [3]”

This practice has been—shockingly-- replicated in the US. Consider the guardianship of Alice Gore, whose teeth were removed and mined for their gold content: ProbateSharks.com: So what does the ARDC say when Alice Gore’s 29 gold teeth are pulled?

Some pundits declare that the Social Security fund is nearly depleted. New government report says Social Security will be broke in 10 years | Schiff Sovereign One way to ensure the continued economic viability of the US would be to eradicate names from the rolls. But that is just conspiracy theory, right?

LIVES UNWORTHY OF LIFE

The second impetus behind the T-4 program was ideological and involved the removal of “lives unworthy of life.” According to an article, published by the US Holocaust Museum, “ It started in 1939, about two years before the Nazis began systematically murdering Europe's Jews as part of the " Final Solution." The program was one of many radical eugenic measures which aimed to restore the racial "integrity" of the German nation. It aimed to eliminate what eugenicists and their supporters considered "life unworthy of life": those individuals who—they believed—because of severe psychiatric, neurological, or physical disabilities represented both a genetic and a financial burden on German society and the state.” Euthanasia Program and Aktion T4 | Holocaust Encyclopedia

While this ideology flies in the face of traditional US propaganda, i.e. “liberty and justice for all,” the strong history of US eugenics programs says otherwise. And the tendency for guardianship court judges to ignore and override the stated wishes of the guardianized, as in the case of Muriel Frank and innumerable others, speaks multitudes. Are the Elderly Being Dosed with Dangerous Antipsychotic Drugs? | ZeroHedge

One must also look at the plight of legal professionals who become aware of abuses in guardianship proceedings and move to contest them. All credit-asset bubbles burst.

2. U.S. housing is a credit-asset bubble.

3. The U.S. housing bubble will burst.

The only variables are how and when Housing Bubble #2 will burst. That's today's topic.

I've been writing about housing since 2005, as Housing Bubble #1 was inflating. I've participated in / observed housing rising sharply in the late 1970s and the late 1980s, followed by deflation / stagnation. Housing Bubble #1--circa 2003-2008--was characterized by all the classic signs of a mania:

1. Participants denied it was a bubble. When greed displaces prudence, this isn't a bubble doomed to pop, it's the New Normal.

2. Fraud, malfeasance, misrepresentation, speculation and leverage were all rampant. In the euphoric ascent to ever higher valuations, why let foolish little things like income, risk management and credit ratings stand in the way of reaping more profits?

Housing Bubble #2 has rolled over into the decline phase, but this is discounted by the consensus which holds that higher mortgage rates dented the market; once they drop a bit, housing will resume its ascent to ever-higher valuations.

I see a different set of dynamics in play:

1. The 40+ year cycle of interest rates / bond yields has turned. Rates will not go back to zero and stay flatlined for years. Risk and inflationary forces have changed and are not returning to The Great Moderation.

2. The Federal Reserve / federal government effectively nationalized the mortgage industry post-2009 Global Financial Meltdown as the means to stop the decline of housing valuations and re-inflate them via super-low mortgage rates. The Fed bought a staggering $1.2 trillion of mortgage-backed securities in 2009-2010, up from zero--a monumental manipulation of the mortgage market that soon exceeded $1.6 trillion.

How the housing/mortgage market managed to survive without Fed nationalization prior to 2009 remains a mystery.

For its part, the federal government effectively nationalized the quasi-governmental mortgage agencies (Fannie Mae, Freddy Mac), using these agencies to guarantee most mortgages in the U.S.

3. The incentive (lower mortgage rates) to commit fraud by claiming to be an owner-occupant rather than an investor has pushed mortgage fraud to levels that Federal Reserve researchers declare "rampant." Owner-Occupancy Fraud and Mortgage Performance (A 46-page PDF report is available on this link.)

The study's authors found that "in most years, fraudulent investors make up roughly one-third of the total pool of investors." Fraud rates in excess of 13% were found in some states states.

The frenzy to buy and convert houses to short-term vacation rentals took off in the post-pandemic "revenge travel" boom. Corporate purchases of houses as rental properties had taken off in the post-2009 era of mass foreclosures, a trend that accelerated as private equity sought new markets to exploit.

Combine corporate / private-equity buyers with small investors flooding into STVRs and the post-pandemic panic-buying frenzy, and it's little wonder that investors--declared and fraudulent, large and small--now own huge swaths of housing in the U.S.:

Investors Bought 26% of the Country's Most Affordable Homes in the Fourth Quarter--the Highest Share on Record

An estimated 26% of Fort Worth's single family homes are owned by companies, city says

(Yes, family trusts and households can own housing as LLCs, but the study linked above paid no attention to the type of ownership; it paid attention to A) if the owners have multiple first liens, and B) whether they moved following the origination of their new purchase mortgage or not.)

4. The risks created by this preponderance of investor ownership are high. The Federal Reserve researchers found that fraudulent investors pose a much higher risk of default than declared investors and real owner-occupants.

As "revenge travel" shrivels up, property taxes and insurance rise and inflation ravages household budgets, STVRs are quickly shifting from income-producing assets to loss-generating liabilities. Investors either sell before they're under-water or the risk of default rises accordingly.

Professionally managed corporate and private-equity owners will start unloading properties as rents sag and vacancies rise. STVR owners who realize the tide has reversed will also rush to sell before the price slide gathers momentum.

Let's look at some charts for context. Here is a chart of total housing units. Confounding the conventional narrative of a "housing shortage," the U.S. added 7.6 million housing units in the five years 2020-2025, a rate far higher than the 8.6 million units added over 10 years 2010-2020.

Here is a chart of owner-occupied housing. Note that the number of owner-occupied homes was flatlined for 12 years--from 2005 to 2016. Then it suddenly leaps up by 10 million in a few years--from 76 million to 86 million. Did 10 million households all win the lottery, or is the bulk of this astounding increase the result of fraudulent investors posing as owner-occupant buyers?

This map shows the extent of investor mortgage -fraud.

Once the profits shrink or reverse into losses, investors push the "sell" button. And since housing is priced on the margins, it only takes a handful of get-me-out sales to push valuations down 10%, then 20%, then 30% and eventually to a bottom between 40% anf 50%.

This vulnerability to the collapse of valuations is the bitter fruit of the Fed's manipulation of rates and mortgages over the past 16 years. We love a "free market" when rapidly expanding credit inflates a bubble, but oh dearie-dearie me, we have to stop the "free market" from operating if it bursts the bubble.

Here's how Housing Bubble #2 bursts: buyers of overvalued, money-losing properties vanish, those who waited too long sink underwater (sales prices are lower than what they paid), marginal investors default, owner-occupants who lose their jobs sell or default, private equity realizes their losses will only increase the longer they hold off selling, and the momentum of sellers far outnumbering buyers cascades.

Greed is replaced by fear, and then by the realization it's too late to exit without losses. This is how bubbles burst.

[Broken_Clock] what could possibly go wrong with this? The mission, hailed as a massive success, featured the world's first commercial spacewalk with astronauts traveling further into space than any humans for more than half a century and marked a breakthrough in testing inter-satellite laser communication through SpaceX's Starlink network.

The Crew Dragon capsule carrying four astronauts, including billionaire entrepreneur Jared Isaacman, SpaceX engineer Sarah Gillis, and two others, splashed down off the coast of Dry Tortugas, Florida, around 0337 ET.

Welcome back to planet Earth.

By 0600 ET, the crew exited the Crew Dragon capsule.

The mission's top focus was testing SpaceX's most advanced spacesuits at an apogee - or farthest point from Earth - than any human has traveled since NASA's Apollo Program ended in 1972. Astronauts Isaacman and Gillis exited the spacecraft for ten minutes each to test the new suits.

The inter-satellite laser communication between the Dragon Spacecraft and SpaceX's Starlink satellite constellation was also successfully tested during the mission.

Looking ahead, Musk revealed one week ago that the Starship mega rocket will begin flying Mars missions in two years when the next Earth-Mars transfer window opens. The mission will be uncrewed to test the rocket's ability to land intact on the Red Planet.

Democrats are fuming over SpaceX's space successes, while Boeing's Starship and Jeff Bezos' Blue Origin are light-years behind Musk.

So far, the Biden administration has not congratulated Musk on Polaris Dawn's push to advance humanity toward becoming a multi-planetary species because of politics.

[maceng2] It's a pity that science and technology today is almost dedicated to destroy hum...

It's a pity that science and technology today is almost dedicated to destroy human civilization either through war, phoney medical science, or mindless over surveillance where despots and dictators will thrive and destroy our freedom of expression.

And you seem to be leading the charge with your accusations of who is a valid scientist, and who is not.

You don't have a clue, and that has been well demonstrated here.

[maceng2] << Why is Mars heating up? You have only ad hominem and appeal to authority. You fail to understand that "education" is the problem here. An "education" from controlling interests with an agenda can only produce students that advance that agenda, since they don't know that they're wrong, just like you.

Every one of those $cientists depends on toeing the line to put food on his table. Why would they shut off that spigot? <Insert famous Upton Sinclair quote here.> BTW, get with the program, it's no longer "global warming," it's "climate change," because that allows them to blame any uncomfortable weather on a specious demon that is actually plant food which the world has been shown to be benefitting from due to its slight increase already. Guess what? The Earth doesn't owe any of us nice weather.

It has been unusually nice weather on the whole for several decades, but prior to that it was much less nice. It's not unreasonable to expect that these phenomena are cyclic and are due to forces that dwarf anything man can do by many orders of magnitude. I always laugh when the nightly news (propaganda, rather) exclaims that extreme weather records from the 1930s or 1940s were broken as though that were some evidence that it's all going to Hell. Does it not occur to them or their sycophantic audience that if we had those records stand for almost 100 years, it's evidence that things can't be that bad? Why is Mars heating up? Is it the SUV-driving Martians? Who's unhinged or paranoid here?

And if you plan on furthering your writing career, it would behoove you to learn the purpose of the apostrophe in the English language, because it's not what you think it is, as you demonstrated in more ways than one in your latest post.

[maceng2] <<I am sorry, but you really have it all figured wrong>>> Em? I'm observing the reality on the ground that what is being practiced is not science; it's pure corruption driven by greed with little to no regard for the supposed desired end result of medicine. the Hippocratic oath has been abandoned. It's just a business now with only shareholders' needs being met rather than patients'. There are primitive societies living in jungles with superior life spans to ours; they do not know of any of the chronic modern diseases that modern man is plagued with.

Our life spans are actually shortening now. The decline began with the Rockefeller takeover of medicine in the early 20th century. Note I'm not completely dismissing modern medicine, but superior natural medicine was prohibited by the new system in order for the petrochemical purveyors to profit more. Disease is not caused by petrochemical derived pharmaceutical deficiency, but that is, for the most part, the current (extremely profitable) sickness-care model.

[koan] You do not seem to understand that everything we have with regard to creature co...

You do not seem to understand that everything we have with regard to creature comforts was given to us by knowledge and the scientists that trade in that currency..

They doubled our life span in the last 150 years. They gave us electricity, antibiotics, cars and planes and the internet and democracy and ethics.

We lived like animals until they gained control just recently. The ignorant, rich, and churches kept them down for all of history.

We had slavery until 1865 for Christ's sake. Doesn't get any more barbaric than that.

And the idea there is some other system for what, science,? is silly.

It is, what it is, and democracy is our only power to defend ourselves.

Our only defense to the rich controlling us, as they did for all of history, is our democracy, but the grand irony is while the anti science folks complain about big pharma, it is really the rich who are the problem.

And everyone knows the Republican party supported by MAGA is the party of the rich.

BUT the MAGA folks are among the poorest. Scientists are often too careful because their reputation is on the line.

The statistics about global warming constantly come out worse than predicted by scientists because the scientists are afraid to ring the alarm too loud BECAUSE so many folks get on them, so they are too cautious.

Scientists are scientists because they are curious and the top one's know of each other and if one sells out the community rejects them

They all fear that above all else. And the majority are liberal.

Do you know why? (For our report on the role played by Hultgren and Yoder, see our 2021 report here.)

Dimon and McHenry are the latest lead players in the disastrous history of derivative regulation in the U.S.

Dimon is the Chair and CEO of the riskiest and largest bank in the United States, JPMorgan Chase. After his bank lost $6.2 billion gambling in derivatives in London in 2012 – using deposits from his federally-insured bank – Dimon would, to rational minds, seem like the least qualified candidate to be giving advice to his banking regulators on how much capital megabanks need to hold to offset their gargantuan trading and derivatives risks. (See All the Devils from 2008 Are Back at the Megabanks: Leverage, Off-Balance-Sheet Debt, Over $192 Trillion in Derivatives, Shaky Capital Levels.)

Unfortunately, rational thought holds no weight in a kleptocracy. (If it did, America would not have a 34-count indicted felon as the Republican candidate for the Presidency and safekeeper of the nuclear codes.) For the same reason that Dimon’s Board of Directors gave him a $50 million bonus after he settled his bank’s fourth and fifth criminal felony counts, Dimon is still able to throw his weight around and intimidate federal banking regulators into becoming his lapdogs.

A little background on Dimon’s battle with his banking regulators on the issue of adequate capital is in order:

On July 27 of last year, the Federal Reserve, FDIC and Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) released a proposal to require higher capital levels at banks with $100 billion or more in assets. Many of these banks had demonstrated quite clearly in the spring of 2023, via bank runs on deposits, that they could spread systemic contagion throughout the U.S. banking system.

The three federal bank regulators provided a very generous public comment period of 120 days on the proposal. The megabanks had to only begin transitioning to the new rules on July 1, 2025, with full compliance not due for a preposterously long five years – on July 1, 2028.

On September 12, 2023 the megabank cartel made its anger and intention to push back known in a 7-page letter that assaulted the proposal. The cartel demanded that the three federal agencies turn over all “evidence and analyses the agencies relied on” in making the proposal.

One of the signatories to the letter was the Bank Policy Institute (BPI), whose Board of Directors consists of the CEOs of the megabanks on Wall Street. BPI is Chaired by none other than Jamie Dimon.

BPI then launched an ad campaign that grossly distorted what the increase in capital would do, claiming that it would harm working families. (These are the same megabanks that blew up the U.S. economy in 2008, put millions of Americans out of work, left millions of working families in foreclosure and got a secret $29 trillion bailout from the Fed – because they had inadequate capital. These megabanks then formed their own coalition to battle in court against the Fed releasing the details of the trillions of dollars in revolving loans these banks had received from December 2007 to the middle of 2010. They lost that battle.)

The Bank Policy Institute then hired Eugene Scalia, a law partner at Big Law firm Gibson, Dunn, to weigh options for potentially suing the Federal Reserve and the other bank regulators over the proposed higher capital rules. Scalia was expected to argue, if the case went to court, that the banking regulators did not do a proper cost benefit analysis prior to proposing the capital rule.

Scalia is the son of the late Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia, who didn’t see anything wrong with accepting lots of free vacations from private interests while he sat on the high court. Eugene Scalia is also the lawyer who previously wielded a hatchet to gut key elements of the Dodd-Frank financial reform legislation of 2010.

The very suggestion that the Fed could end up in an embarrassing, headline-grabbing court battle with the very banks it regulates – with appeals dragging the case out for years – had the intended effect of intimidation.

Fed Chair Jerome Powell appeared before the Senate Banking Committee on March 7 of this year for his regularly scheduled Semiannual Monetary Policy Report. After Republicans on the Committee gushed over Powell’s willingness to rethink, redraft or repropose the capital rules, it came time for Senator Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) to question Powell.

Warren was incensed that after Powell had promised in 2023 to support the Fed’s Vice Chair for Supervision, Michael Barr, in making capital reforms to prevent more bank runs and systemic contagion, Powell was now caving to pressure from the banking industry.

Senator Warren said the 37 largest banks that would be impacted by the higher capital rules have “spent tens of millions of dollars running ads during Sunday night football and millions more for an army of lobbyists to try to twist arms here in Congress.”

Warren told Powell this: “Despite all you said last year when the banks failed about supporting Vice Chair Barr’s recommendations to strengthen rules for big banks, public reporting now says that you are driving efforts inside the Fed to weaken the capital rule. You even told the House Financial Services Committee representatives yesterday that you think it’s ‘very plausible’ that you withdraw the rule.”

Warren concluded with this:

“You are the leader of the Fed and when the heat was on last year, you talked a lot about getting tougher on the banks. But now the giant banks are unhappy about that and you’ve gone weak-kneed on this. The American people need a leader at the Fed who has the courage to stand up to these banks and protect our financial system.”

Dimon received assistance in his effort to bully and intimidate federal banking regulators to back off the capital proposals by Patrick McHenry, the Republican Chair of the House Financial Services Committee.

According to a report in the Financial Times on Tuesday, McHenry threatened that if the Fed didn’t overhaul its capital proposal, Congress would invoke the Congressional Review Act, which gives Congress the ability to reverse federal agency rules.

The long and short of this bullying and intimidation campaign is that Michael Barr, the Fed’s Vice Chair for Supervision, addressed an audience at the Hutchins Center on Fiscal and Monetary Policy at the Brookings Institution on Tuesday and formally capitulated on the proposed capital reforms. The capital increase for the megabanks is now being proposed by the Fed at a 9 percent increase, down by more than half from the original proposal submitted for public comment in July 2023.

As for those dodgy trillions of dollars in derivatives, it appears that the Fed intends to let the megabanks continue to use their own internal models to assess that risk.

The bank regulators will now need to resubmit their new capital proposal for public comment; negotiate for months or years to issue a final rule; and then offer a multi-year phase-in period – meaning this can is being indefinitely kicked down the road.

At present, it’s not clear if the FDIC and the OCC are going along with the Fed’s capitulation to the demands of the Wall Street megabanks. We will report more on that as we obtain clarifying information.

[maceng2] Hi koan, If you bother to listen to Zoe Phin, she will tell you the Earth is in...

Hi koan,

If you bother to listen to Zoe Phin, she will tell you the Earth is in fact an Oblate Spheroid, not a perfect Sphere (i.e it's not "round"). At least one academic failed to notice the care she put into her calculations, while he failed to do so in his.

I don't care what your sources have said. They need the research grants and approvals to exist. Unfortunately this means they are compromised and that is clear to anyone who takes the time to examine the record instead of just listening to the hogwash from the "scientific community" (as you call it) and to CNN etc. The "talking heads" who are nothing but puppets on strings.

Don't you think the sources I have provide are good examples of the "scientific community"? It includes some of the very highest achievers out there.

We are done here, you have bought nothing new to the table.

[koan] The scientific community says they know. Have you already forgotten Zoe Phin. That is a factor of two out already.

Then there are these guys I posted in the last message to you as well. Also ignored.

About - CO2 Coalition

and there are many more in different organizations. All with outstanding academic records, yet you dismiss them all as nobodies.

This is because you are hypnotised by the news stories on CNN etc. and what the big oil companies want you to believe.

Oil is a finite asset (far as I can determine, there are other theories) but is does become more expensive to find new supply as demand increases.

So the big boys who own oil want to get the best price they can get. How do they do that?

To make a commodity more expensive you simply make it scarce for the existing demand. Cut down on Exploration and Research. Cut refining capacity, and have a war with Russia. and keep the wars in the Middle East going to help throttle supply.

Done !

Simple as pie.

Therefore you will find the biggest "Green" supporting complies out there are Oil companies.
Enthusiastic for carbon credits bullshit, the whole shooting match.

Meanwhile you will have to eat bugs and freeze during the winter as your carbon footprint is too big.

Congratulations on your son in laws achievements and discoveries, I mean that sincerely, but there much real work that needs to be done.

[koan] It is a figure of speech. I expected you to know that.

It means for all practical purposes.

And my son is law also received an award in Vienna for one of his discoveries. The point being, he knows the best minds of that scientific community.

Of course there are a few global warming deniers, but mostly they are paid shills for the oil companies, or just scientists who don't think straight.

So you want me to believe one meteorologist over the entire atmospheric scientific community?

Do you have any idea how unlikely it is one guy is smarter than the thousands of atmospheric scientists in the world.

Do you understand probability theory?

Well, the chances of that one guy being right, and the entire atmospheric community being wrong is very very small!

And do you know how much better educated a scientist with PHD in atmospheric science is than a meteorologist?

<
ah, you told me this before.

"None" eh?

A mighty strange thing to say.
