Always wanted a boss 302 so I did what I could to my 66 289 that I was building for super stock class. Was almost finished when NHRA came out and changed the rules .. car could not be more than 4 years old .. mine was 5. My first experience with rules changers.

By golly it became a daily driver .. before that and marriage I built a 57 ford fairlane 2 door sedan sporting a 427 medium riser with dual 750's on a raised manifold that bolted to crane heads with roller rockers and cam. Was legal B modified production and I had more fun building it than driving .. it was fast but I only ran in the 11's .. I think at that time the record was mid 10's. Wish I still had it .. lol.

I read somewhere that every small block guy needed to run a big block for the experience .. yeah there's a little difference .. :-)
