Each alien species has two arms and legs and a humanoid appearance, Davis claimed, citing intelligence reports.

Both the Reptilians and the Nordics are human-sized, roughly 6 feet tall, Davis said at a UAP Disclosure Fund meeting in 2025 which was attended by Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC), Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (R-Fla.) and Rep. Eric Burlison (R-Mo.).

Nordics are a race of highly-human-like creatures who, despite being from a far-flung planet, closely resemble people northern Europe here on planet Earth.

Reptilians are scaley skinned lizard-like creatures with human limbs, long tails, who walk upright, experts in the field speculate.

Grays are small, massive-eyed, hairless creatures — classically depicted in films such as “Close Encounters of the Third Kind.”

Insectoids are bug-like humanoids, sometimes referred to as Mantids because they resemble a praying mantis, Ufologists speculate.

Former Air Force Intelligence officer and UAP Task Force member David Grusch testified under oath in Congress in 2023 that the US was in possession of “non-human biologics” recovered from dozens of crashed UFOs.

Those claims were based on testimony from members of the supposed crash retrieval program which was detailed in Farah’s film “Age of Disclosure,” which premiered in March.

“I’ve talked off the record with some people who are involved in recoveries,” Farah told Bartlett on Thursday’s podcast, adding: “They would not go on camera to do interviews.

According to Humble, this is a first of its kind in so much as it is a “hauler that reasons like a human”, while the streamlined “load execution” means it can act as a tractor, trailer, and driver… all in one.

Essentially a motorized electric trailer on wheels, the futuristic robot can fit both international and domestic containers in its load area.

It is also capable of DC fast-charging for efficient operation and can manage a maximum 200-mile range on a single charge.

A quick scan of the very flashy website reveals that the concept can be configured to handle a variety of cargo, with a six-wheeled concrete mixer sitting side-by-side with an eight-wheeled freight hauler.

Analysis: no humans required

According to Inside EVs, the first prototype is predominantly designed to work in and around warehouses, railways, and seaports, but its 55-mph top speed and Level 4 autonomous capabilities could see it hit the highway one day.

Using the popular vision-language-action (VLA) models, a clever use of AI that is also being harnessed by Hyundai’s Motional robotaxi service and more, the Humble Hauler is better equipped to reason in real-world scenarios and make difficult decisions without human intervention.

Humble Robotics’ CEO, Eyal Cohen, has previously held titles at Apple, Uber, and Waabi, helping this start-up raise some $24 million in funding.

“We are making freight sustainable, safe, and efficient in a way no one thought was possible,” Cohen explains, according to Inside EVs.

It’s not often a math paper goes viral, but a new preprint from a theoretical physicist at Poland’s Jagiellonian University has well and truly bucked the trend. Why? Because it seems to reduce all of math down to a single operation – no addition, subtraction, square roots, cos, sin, or tan required.

“Everyone learns many mathematical operations in school: fractions, roots, logarithms, and trigonometric functions […] each with its own rules and a dedicated button on a scientific calculator,” notes Andrzej Odrzywoek’s new paper.

But “higher mathematics reveals that many of these are redundant,” he writes: “for example, trigonometric ones reduce to the complex exponential.”

“How far can this reduction go?” he asks. “We show that it goes all the way: a single operation, eml(x, y), replaces every one of them.”

Very simple; very complicatedImagine a calculator with only two buttons: 1, and something that says “EML”. It may not be easy or time-efficient, but from those two, you could feasibly reproduce any computation possible on a normal scientific calculator.

So what is this mysterious function? Well, “EML” is actually a very descriptive name: the letters stand for “exponent minus log,” and the operator looks like this:

eml(x, y) := exp(x) – ln(y).

Now, we’re really not kidding when we say this baby isn’t easy to use. If you want to produce the number 0, for example – pretty much one of the foundational bits of any mathematical system – you’d have to type this into your two-button calculator:

eml(1, eml(eml(1, 1), 1))

… which is a mite longer than just pressing a simple “0” button, let’s face it.

But to be fair, efficiency and ease for humans isn’t really the point. “The discovery was a side result of a larger project on exhaustive search, using methods known as symbolic regression,” Odrzywoek told IFLScience.

That’s an area of math – or, really, computer science – that is more like a treasure hunt than a brainteaser: it “seek[s] exact laws and formulas in data,” he explained.

You can think of symbolic regression methods as a kind of “backwards” math – you start with the end results and use symbolic regression to work towards the equation that produces them.

Except, by “work towards,” we mean “trawl wildly through a vast space of potential expressions until you find one that fits.” It’s not something you’d want to try as a human, basically.

But if you’re already deep in the theoretical computing weeds, why not keep going? “Along the way, I became curious about how small the basis for such a search could be,” Odrzywoek said. “EML was the answer.”

The first step on an unknown pathOn the face of it, this is little more than a mathematical trick – a particularly neat one, to be sure, but nothing super helpful for day-to-day life.

But that’s really selling it short: Odrzywoek “is essentially proposing a ‘NAND gate for continuous mathematics’,” Martin Benning, Professor of Inverse Problems in the Department of Computer Science at University College London, explained to IFLScience. A NAND gate is a type of logic gate in computing that is "functionally complete," meaning any function can be performed with only this type of gate.

(Benning was not involved in Odrzywoek's project; his work focuses on inverse problems and continuous optimization, an area that is fairly close to the concepts in this paper, but that he stresses does not make him an authority on them.)

“By doing this, [he] turns what is usually a discrete and combinatorial search problem into a uniform continuous optimization problem,” Benning told IFLScience. “From the perspective of machine learning, that is an interesting and appealing shift because it allows us to theoretically use standard neural network training techniques to discover exact mathematical formulas from data.”

( Ken Silva, Headline USA) A Secret Service officer was reportedly arrested Monday for public masturbation at a DoubleTree hotel near the Miami airport.

The officer, 33-year-old uniformed division officer John Spillman, was arrested after hotel security called the Miami Dade Sheriff’s office, which allegedly caught him in the act, according to RealClearPolitics reporter Susan Crabtree.

“A victim told police that she was in the lobby when Spillman allegedly followed her and another upstairs and immediately entered a room ‘because she was in fear for their lives,’” Crabtree reported, adding that the victim “saw the defendant masturbating next to their hotel room.”

A court hearing is set for May 27 for Spillman.

The Secret Service has yet to publicly comment on the matter, which marks the latest in a series of public embarrassments for the agency.

Last month, for instance, a married Secret Service agent was revealed to have been having an affair with an OnlyFans star and making pornographic videos with her.

Around the same time, ABC News revealed that a Secret Service trainee was arrested for spying on his roommate, also an agent-in-training, with a hidden camera.

Before that, a Secret Service agent protecting former First Lady Jill Biden shot himself in the buttocks last month at the Philadelphia International Airport.

And earlier in the month, Crabtree reported that agent Myosoty Perez, who is a lesbian, has been suspended and is under investigation for marrying a foreign national—possibly an illegal immigrant—without declaring it. Perez was one of the agents responsible for nearly getting President Donald Trump killed at his July 13, 2024, campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania.

In January, journalist James O’Keefe published a shocking report about how a Secret Service agent assigned to Vice President JD Vance’s security detail leaked details about his travels to one of O’Keefe’s undercover reporters.

Also in January, a Secret Service recruit shot and killed a 16-year-old in Tamarac, Florida. The 16-year-old victim was identified as Orlando Wedderburn. A woman was also grazed. The Secret Service recruit, for his part, is claiming self-defense.

According to Crabtree, Secret Service Director Sean Curran is receiving internal criticism for not doing enough to eliminate the agency’s diversity, equity and inclusion policies, which were implemented starting in the Obama era.

Meanwhile, the agency is looking to hire 4,000 new employees by 2028.

Deciphering a lost script is one of the hardest achievements in archaeology and linguistics. It opens the door to a vast, until-now obscured chapter of ancient history. It lets a vanished society speak to us again, often after thousands of years of silence.

In this case, the voice comes from Elam, a Bronze Age civilization in what is now southwestern Iran. Linear Elamite was first discovered by French excavators at Susa in 1903. It’s believed the script was used between 2300 and 1880 B.C. It resisted decipherment for generations, partly because scholars had so little material to work with. Unlike cuneiform, which survives in hundreds of thousands of tablets, Linear Elamite survives in only a small corpus of inscriptions.

The breakthrough came when Desset gained access to a group of silver vessels held in a private collection in London. On them, he spotted the kind of clue that has unlocked scripts before: royal names.

His “Ptolemy” was Šilhaha, an Elamite ruler from around 1950 B.C. The reference made here is to the Rosetta Stone. When Jean-François Champollion deciphered Egyptian hieroglyphs, royal names such as Ptolemy and Cleopatra gave him a crucial foothold because he could match repeated symbols to names already known from Greek.

From that repeated sequence of signs, Desset had the first firm sounds he needed to start reading the script.

The claim is both thrilling and disputed. Some scholars argue that Desset has gone too far, especially in describing Linear Elamite as a purely phonetic writing system. Others question the role of unprovenanced objects in the decipherment.

If Desset is right, Linear Elamite forces historians to look again at ancient Iran with fresh eyes — not as a fringe of Mesopotamia, but as one of the places where people experimented boldly with the written word.

The Silver Cups in the Vault

The breakthrough came from artifacts that many scholars had reason to distrust.

They were a set of silver vessels held by the Mahboubian family, Iranian British collectors with a major private collection of ancient Near Eastern art. They were kept in a London safety deposit center, far from the soil where they had supposedly been found.

This is where the trouble starts.

Not Quite a Rosetta Stone

Egyptian hieroglyphs developed soon after in a world of kingship, ritual, and monumental display.

Both systems mixed signs for sounds with signs for words or ideas.

Linear Elamite may have done something entirely different.

In their conclusion, Desset and colleagues argue that at a time when Mesopotamian cuneiform and Egyptian hieroglyphs were mixed systems, “the Iranian plateau followed an original path in the history of writing” with what they call the oldest currently known purely phonographic writing system.

Their proposed grid has 77 values: five vowels, 12 consonants, and 60 syllabic signs.

That does not make Linear Elamite an alphabet in the modern sense. It is closer to an alpha-syllabary. But if the interpretation holds, it would push the history of purely sound-based writing back centuries earlier than many scholars assumed.

It would also make ancient Iran central to one of humanity’s greatest inventions: the conversion of speech into symbols that can be etched on things
