Nearly a year later Mq and Starlink (who copied my name Astralink from 1996 = see NZ companies office) have gone fully stupod by introducing FREE STUFF equipment for residential but you pay $79 per month whether you need 1 megabyte now and then or 100 gigabytes every third week. Was $599 to buy the equipment. Now $960 over a one year contract. It's such a shame that $ billions are spent by great engineers who build great stuff but it's then run by chimps who have been to marketing school and think they're clever but are not. Sometimes the engineers are duds too, such as the Globalstar satellites that failed soon after launch. And the Zenit rocket that crashed a dozen satellites during launch. I haven't bothered to read the full deal coz it'll be as stupid as the first part they advertised. I suppose $80 a month for all the data you can eat once you've paid off the equipment. I'd buy the equipment if they would allow me to use what data I like and prepay for that data. No you morons, not a monthly charge. I'll buy 50 gigabytes to be used any time over the next dozen years. Maybe nothing for a few months and maybe 10 gigabytes one month. Not everybody needs to have the same contract. To avoid overloading at peak times, free data could be offered when the batteries are full and the load is light. If there's a panic on then data could be panic priced at $1 per megabyte to ensure the system is always available. Lots of people would like such cheap service. Others would like reliable that they could use any time. The system is heavily underused because people don't like being robbed by overpriced bandits. Mqurice .... Aha, I think I've figured out why they have the monthly charge obsession. They're women!! Or trannies who think they're women. They get their moon cycle periods and their brains go spastic. Gloria the marketing lady at Globalstar I met and talked with in 1999 to try to get them to see sense. Must have been the same problem. Women are often in marketing. They should be happily married having children and doing something useful for the world. Right now the women running Eurostan are wanting to rev up the war on Ukraine to full scale nuclear war. Ursula von den Kraut and her sidekick herr Gruppenfuhrer Stoltenberg, Annalena and the many other women such as Liz Truss, Theresa May, Merkel, whole covens of them, want Barbarossa 2 to the tune of the 1812 Overture with the Charge of the Light Brigade into Crimea from Romania and gearing up from Georgia. Yank tanks to Murmansk are ready to launch from Norway. Women love to see men fighting. They're mammals and primates. They want to mate with the alpha males. Contrary to my youthful ignorance, they are cheerleaders for war. The dumb sap men get all worked up and join the stupid attack. Where's my Nobel Peace Prize? Obama got one and he started the wars with millions now dead. Hillary Clinton = "We came, we saw, he died.... Cackle cackle cackle". We dodged a bullet like Trump did, twice, when he won and Biden and cackling Kamala couldn't steal another election. That stolen election was a calamity. Victoria Nuland succeeded in conquering Ukraine with the coup in Kiev but Russia did not roll over. They successfully fought back. I had thought Russia would lose. I expected that USA/Eurostan would have geewhuzzbang super weapons. Looks like Russia is holding the line and winning. And they still have hypersonic atomic bombs if the USA/Eurostan really lose their minds.
