Dale: Currently I have a lack of interest in RSH. So I've done no research on RSH and given the lapse from their heyday. The YH poster could very well be right. Many company owed stores and any valuable real estate might have been sold off a very long time ago to raise cash. One thing that might very well be an asset. long term leases for the company's stores? IMO- one of the reason RSH didn't go out of business earlier, was it's small size, locations, and brand recognition. Circuit City -Sun -Lechmere and a host of other big box electronic retailers never seem to have staying power. Being in NY. who could forget Crazy Eddies. His prices were insane. IMO long term, Best Buy is still a big question mark, if it has staying power. If RSH current troubles weren't enough. I've already seen for myself the space and advertising Walmart has dedicated to the cell phone business.
Has anything sparked your interest in RSH?

P.S. I still view the Radio Shack brand as Iconic

At the end of 2012, RSH owned approximately 15.0% of their square footage:

Item 2 Properties - Real Estate Owned and Leased

sec.gov

Also:

According to its most recent 10-K, its lease commitments total about $600 million, of which only $135 million is due in 2016 or thereafter. Very short leases.
