An Air T Inc. subsidiary has won a $10.5 million contract to supply de-icer trucks and training simulators to the city of Charlotte.

Global Ground Support expects to begin delivery this quarter. The equipment will be used to ensure that departing flights at Charlotte Douglas International Airport operate safely during inclement weather.

“We are excited to have been selected by the city of Charlotte and look forward to working with them,” says Chief Executive Walter Clark. “This contract was the result of a competitive process which we won, due in part, to the quality of product and the high level of service that Global Ground Support provides to all of its customers.”

Air T (NASDAQ:AIRT) provides overnight air-freight service for the express-delivery industry. It also makes and services aircraft ground-support and special-purpose industrial equipment.

The company is based in Maiden.
