Despite the common belief in the United States that "Arab" equals "Muslim", the majority of self-identifying Arabs in the United States are Eastern Rite Catholic or Orthodox, according to the Arab American Institute.

I have a hard time believing that most ME Arabs who are living here have converted to Christianity.

That was Nadine's assertation. I decided not to challenge it as I think the right numbers are hard to come by, and I didn't think it made any difference to my original point. There are many Christian Arabs, and a lot of the immigrated here to get away from the Muslim oppression in the Arab country they came from.

My point was that the Muslims here, including the Arab ones, are a potential "Fifth Column." That's why the FBI denies that they are checking them out while, at the same time, doing so.

It would be a lot easier for them to do so if we deported the ones who are here on Visas and Green cards with problems, and kept Salafi ones from entering. But this is too PC and Multicultural a subject to ever be allowed to surface by the Elites in the Media and Politics.

The Iranian ones here are Shia, and not subject to the Sunni Salafi influence. Most hate the Iranian Mullahs who run their country and won't cause any problems here.

My reading indicates that the Pakistani Muslims here are popping up as the most inclined to becoming Jihadists. They are all of the Deobandi Sect, which started in Northwest India and is very Salafi. This is the group that the Taliban was formed from and still recruit from today.

It's obvious that the FBI is keeping track of Pakistanis here who are in their teens and twenties and traveling to Pakistan. Among this group are the ones who go their for Jihad training.

BTW, the Pakistanis are very easy to "sort" into the dangerous/non-dangerous slots. The dangerous Paks that are mostly Salafi are from the Pushtun tribe. They are only 10% of the Pakistanis, but 40% of the Afghans.

You don't totally eliminate the problem with this type of profiling, but you drastically lessen the workload on the FBI. It's fortunate that these kind of distinctions are there.

I just hope the FBI is using them.

I didn't say "converts". They were Arab Christians in the Middle East, they remain Arab Christians here. As Islamization grows, life become harder for Arab Christians to live in the Mideast, and it is easier for them to emmigrate. There has been a wholesale emmigration of Christians out of the Palestinian territories, which is hardly ever reported.
