"This "Seal of Approval" comes out ONE DAY after the 65nm announcement with" So? They often release their report in close proximity to the release of a chip using the process. The better to sell their reports. I think we can safely say they had the chips for a while. Your other points mean nothing with respect to the process. This company and others make a business of chip tear downs, complete with micrographs of transistor details. They put a lot of effort into these reports, but if you have an interest in the process details, this is the only way to get it. They don't do this for hire. No real market for it.
