This has IMHO nothing to do with why Apple moved to Intel. The lack of an available CPU beyond the G4 has been a curse Apple needed to solve given that mobile is where the sales growth is. IBM like Motorola has admitted defeat to Intel for computers. IBM may achieve some success with game consoles but that's about it.

I'm really curious to see the performance of dual core Intel Power Macs when compared to dual core G5 Power Macs.
