(NASDAQ: JWEB) announced today that it has added more than 400 new access numbers across the nation for use by members of its Internet services, bringing the total number of points of presence (POPs) that Juno offers to more than 2,300. This expansion reinforces Juno's position as a leader in offering local coverage throughout the United States. The rolling out of new POPs comes in part as a result of an agreement recently announced between Juno and Splitrock Services, Inc., a leading network provider. In addition, Juno has recently begun making available new POPs from other wholesale network vendors. The new POPs increase the number of distinct geographic locations where Juno(R) users can access the service with a local call by more than 40%, and bring the total number of places where Juno offers one or more POPs to more than 1,300, including more than 400 cities in which Juno did not previously offer local access numbers. "With these new points of presence, Juno can offer users a greater choice of access numbers than ever before, and more than almost any other access provider," said Wendy Rosenberg, Juno's vice president in charge of telecommunications. "No matter where in the country you live or travel to, the chances are excellent that Juno is there, and that you'll be able to use Juno to connect to the Web through a highly reliable 56 kbps v.90-compatible local connection." In combination with the release of version 3.0 of the Juno software (as announced in June), the new access numbers will make it easier for Juno subscribers to use all three levels of the company's Internet services.
