A few statements popped out from the call.

1. Dicussed Blue with a bit more detail, talking about the requirements necessary to adopt it.
2. Seemed to hint about something being announced at the conference next week
3. Sid said a few times we are "very comfortable" with our guidance (sandbagging)
4. Sid said "But overall, we really are very bullish on where the market is going"

I didn't hear anyone ask why the contracts were renewed so early?

~200k in blue/host sales. $100k last year.

10Q

Inline XBRL Viewer (sec.gov)

Our total material sales were $79.8 million for the three months ended March 31, 2021, as compared to $66.6 million for the three months ended March 31, 2020, an increase of 20% with a commensurate increase in unit material volume of 13%. The increase in material sales was due to increased demand for OLED products utilizing our emitter material as the global economy continued to improve during the three months ended March 31, 2021. Even though we believe we have experienced the worst effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, we remain uncertain as to the possibility of its re-emergence and corresponding negative impact on OLED market demand.

Green emitter sales for the three months ended March 31, 2021, which include our yellow-green emitters, were $60.5 million as compared to $52.6 million for the three months ended March 31, 2020, with unit material volumes increasing by 11%.

Red emitter sales for the three months ended March 31, 2021 were $19.1 million as compared to $13.9 million for the three months ended March 31, 2020, with unit material volumes increasing by 21%.

I haven’t had a chance to listen yet, but if this is true, this is really disappointing. How could an inquiry this obvious be overlooked? I’m not optimistic that Steve/Sid’s answer would have provided anything meaningful, but sheesh! At least ask the question.

I don't think they used the word "lumpy" enough in the conference call. I really thought it needed to be expressed several more times in answer to each question, regardless of whether or not it was relevant.

Last question dealt with BLUE... Steve answered that there will be some papers presented at the upcoming SID Display Week (May 16-21) so he could not comment.

Has upcoming presentations at SID ever kept them from commenting on "making progress" on Blue? I don't remember any. Makes me think the upcoming presentations are likely "material" events.

I think Lee made his point which aligns with ZikZak's comment that Sid and Steve need to learn to play the game better.

SId and Steve are playing their own game - minimizing the information provided to shareholders. They claim their clients require confidentiality but UDC is the most secretive company I know. I no longer listen to their calls. Recently an arm of the government ordered them to provide more information.

IBM says it has made a significant breakthrough in computer processors by creating a 2nm chip in its test lab.

The process used to make computer chips is measured in nanometres (nm) - with a lower number usually signifying a leap forward.

IBM claims its test chip can improve performance by 45% over current 7nm commercially available products.

It is also more energy efficient - using 75% less energy to match current performance, IBM said.

It claims the tech could "quadruple" mobile phone battery life, and phones might only need to be charged every four days.

I'm surprised you need reminding. You were involved in the discussion, coming to the defense of management as you do, just 3 months ago.

From Slacker after reading the 10K, post 25604,
There are filings that indicate the SEC told UDC to be give more details on their changes in material revenues so we can now track material volumes and ASP's. A very welcome change....

The unfunded pension went up by $27.4m to a total of $78.5m owed to 7 individuals.

My response, post 25611,

I've said UDC management routinely provides the legal minimum information to shareholders. It seems I was wrong. We've been getting less than the company is obliged to provide.

Thanks A.J. for your reply. Perhaps you can copy and post the SEC filings you refer to and any subsequent changes implemented by UDC.

My part was in relation to pensions, not SEC involvement.

Yes, you have been wrong and continue to be. The company provides all legally required information to shareholders.
