Guess most people know that the furnace was checked out last week and the potential problem turned out to be a non-problem. They should be back in operation shortly.

Price has been depressed recently due to problems with their main vitrification melter at Savannah River, SC. So, now would be a good time to get aboard if you have a long-term outlook.

Bill,
Thanks for your response. I had heard of an apparent hole in the melter.
Any additional info you might have i'm listening.
Thanks again.

I haven't heard anything lately. They are working to restore the furnace. DOE seems to be very supportive of the company based on statements made when the problem occurred and the company took the cautious way out. They are expected to be back on line late in the year. They currently have no apparent competition -- Martin Marietta Molten Metals had been competing, but they seem to be kaput now. As someone said, for the long run, it looks like a good time to get in. I just did after the furnace problem occurred.

Norm, DRTK is still in my portfolio, and will stay there since I have it at a low basis. But neither do I anticipate any near term action in the stock price, and for that reason do not plan increasing my position much if at all at present. And DRTK appears to be a stock with its own story and a trajectory that is not really participating in the present bull market. Rather, I think that DRTK is the type of stock that may profit most in a generally down market. Bill

Bill et al, What's causing the DRTK increase? I know the Aug 14 quarterly earnings were nice, but there seems to be some other force causing an upward movement over the last few days. I haven't seen any recent news. Are they ahead of schedule on the furnace restoration? Anyone know?
