No, I bought at 29.5 when I thought it was at a low. Turns out it found a new low. I'm now wondering if I want to average down. Just hate to tie up that much on one stock. Curious why there isn't more chat on this stock. |

I talked to the company today. They say that there is absolutely no reason for this decline. Just looking at the trading, it looks like the momentum players are getting out in a hurry - probably Janus and Nicholas-Applegate. This is probably a fantastic opportunity to buy this stock. Look for insider purchase filings to come across the wire in the near future. |

I just found the answer to my guestion in my previous note. ie where is all the discussion on USSB? I found it under 'Satellite Stocks - USSB, CQ, SPOT, QCOM, etc.' Now my next question is why are all of these guys taking such a hit at the same time? |

It is cheap. The company just held their annual meeting today. They also issued a press release saying they are optimistic and continue to believe that they will break even in June on a cash flow basis. Another piece of good news is that several companies have asked the FCC to review the sattelite license for News Corp/MCI given that MCI will soon be a British company. If the FCC revokes this license, any serious competition for Direct TV/USSB will be pushed back further. (DISH is not serious competition) There isn't much down side right now. Much of the drop was overreaction to a Delco conference call and the First Boston downgrade. The company strongly agrees that the market has overreacted. I think you easily get 35% in the next month or so. |

Thank you for the info. I think one of their biggest problems is exposure... advertising, publicity, name recognition. Most ads I see advertise direc tv as an option. They also have boring ads on free tv. They need a better advertising company working for them. I think they are a good company, priced cheap now, but they are having growing pains. Just my opinion... randy... |

this should be a good time to buy ussb (<$15). if you think about it, the entire industry is doing pretty good. the cable guys are all losing subs like flies and everybody is latching onto dss.
with cpu prices falling as low as $200, this would no doubt bring more dss subs. this just opens the space for content guys like ussb.
in the cable world, there are tons of hbo and other "premiere" subs. if these guys move to dss, what makes one think that they're gonna give up their hbo and other goodies? |
