This facility is dedicated to the production of Research Frontiers’ patented SPD-Smart light control film for the entire SPD-SmartGlass industry. Gauzy has developed, and is manufacturing SPD-Smart light control technology, from the chemistry to the final product. The company has a production plant in Tel Aviv making the chemical emulsion and special light-controlling nano particles that are coated in Stuttgart to become SPD-Smart light control film. The custom designed roll-to-roll production line in Germany can produce one million square meters annually of SPD-Smart light control film up to 1.8 meters wide. Clearly, no matter how you slice it the rest of the market that is needed to move this stock was not impressed, as most of us were with today's events. We see the "number" of company reps that attended the celebration as a big step towards success, whereas others are looking for "numbers" to move the stock now. Although I'm still sticking with Joe's second half bump, we just may get a surprise even in the 4th quarter "numbers".

Question for the legal scholars out there: Now that the oem "players" have more or less been exposed by attending the opening, has the fog lifted a bit on the NDA cover? Joe said he was told to button his lip in the future, so were these company reps just "window shopping" or are they real customers? I believe we have gone from a fiction to a nonfiction story.

Now on the technical side of the stock story, supply has definitely outperformed demand, an until the price/volume spread changes (hear that pr company) we will continue to walk a "tightrope".

My thought on that is that some care and some do not. After all, it is human beings running these companies with different egos and personalities. So its possible those that attended do not care if mentioned. However, he did not say why they are there so its maybe if their plans are not mentioned they dont care if mentioned.

A closer look at Paolo Bajav (he's with Henkel) from The Innovator:

And Bajav’s mandate is to build new businesses in advanced materials for the adhesives business that could have a turnover of hundreds of millions of euros in five to eight years.

Given that adhesive maker Avery-Dennison already has a stake in Gauzy, how likely is it that Henkel wants one too?

I would think that Gauzy would be verrry interested in finding the best adhesives.
IMHO, Aftermarket and retrofit for both cars/offices and buildings need both clear and UV stable adhesives since the film would be inside the adhesive and not laminated/protected by the film.
The retrofit market could be a hundred times the "new" market,... think peel n stick W/wysps... ;-]

The most he can say is that there are cars coming out in 2020, 2021, and 2022, but won’t segregate into which vehicles are mainstream or premium. That said, he reports the company is working with virtually every car company in the world, and adds that it can be found in some vehicles that you can order now, but aren’t being delivered to customers until next year.
And yet, Harary insists he isn’t being coy.
The company recently reported that film sales through the third quarter of this year have exceeded all of last year, which indicates that automotive use is increasing. For example, the technology could be useful in SUVs that have rear-seat entertainment systems to make it easier for people to watch videos.
I emailed Mercedes-Benz asking if it’s being used in any newly revealed vehicles–specifically the recently revealed EQC–but haven't yet heard back from the manufacturer.
And without a manufacturer expressly mentioning his company’s name or the technology being used, Research Frontier isn’t at liberty to discuss SmartGlass application in any product.

So if you are at an auto show and see a car–especially an EV or SUV (or both)–that has either panoramic roofs or side windows that can adjust its tint, it’s a safe guess that it’s using Research Fronteir’s SmartGlass.

Update: A Mercedes-Benz spokesperson responded that its “Magic Sky” feature that uses SmartGlass will not be in the EQC.
