Green Light Given For E-Window Shades; Lighting System Of Elliott Aviation
?
Executive jets can now be further 'pimped-out' on the interior thanks to the latest STC given to after-market specialist Elliott Aviation for their dimmable window shades and LED interior lighting. The lighting system is called PRIZM and the E-shades are called SMART VISION SYSTEM. "Aircraft repair stations and refurbishment centers have been looking for a solution that is both well designed and cost-effective for LED lighting and electronically dimmable shades," said Mark Wilken, Elliott’s vice president of avionics programs and operational logistics. "They’re easy to use, easy to install, and will be available at a price point that is affordable to the end-user."

Below we see an example of what can be done regarding the cabin lighting. The application in the cabin is fairly extensive and is available to down and upwash lighting, accents, galley, lavatory and detailed lighting. The SMART VISION SYSTEM implements an inner pane on the window and has five different colours of electronically dimmable film. These aforementioned systems can be controlled through existing methods or through an app. A Citation Excel was used to do the STC installation as seen below.

Elliott Aviation, a leading business aviation services company, has received Parts Manufacturing Approval (PMA) from the FAA to manufacture PRIZM brand LED cabin lighting and electronically dimmable Smart Vision Shades brand electronic window shades. Both products will be sold under the Elliott Technologies brand. PMA certification now allows the company to sell to other 145 repair stations.

PRIZM cabin LED lighting features full-color spectrum mood lighting controlled through a mobile app or existing cabin lighting controls. It is available for upwash, downwash, lower accent, galley, lavatory and cupholders. The system has custom preset mood lighting configuration and allows for customer selectable preset lighting configurations. The PRIZM lighting is expandable to meet the needs of most turbine-powered business aircraft. PRIZM cabin LED lighting is scalable to fit in turboprops up to wide-body business jets.

Smart Vision Shades are electronically dimmable inner window panes. When combined with PRIZM cabin lighting, they can be controlled with an app available on a smart phone, or with the built-in controls. They feature individual variable control at each window and are 99% UV blocking. Like PRIZM cabin LED lighting, Smart Vision Shades can be installed in turboprops up to wide-body business jets.

The PRIZM / Smart Vision Shades app can be seamlessly integrated with the Gogo ATG and L3/L5 high-speed data systems through the Gogo Vision app.

“Our engineering team has created both the PRIZM cabin lighting systems and Smart Vision Shades based on market demand,” said Mark Wilken, Vice President of Avionics Programs and Operational Logistics for Elliott Aviation. “We understand the unique challenges that exist not only bringing new products to the market, but installing and maintaining those products. These products are created by an MRO for an MRO.”

The STC for these products was completed in a Citation Excel in December of 2018. For more information on becoming an Elliott Technologies dealer, contact Mark Wilken at 309-558-2051 or mwilken@elliottaviation.com.

FWIW,
There are still "attitudes" that has lingered because of the past with this investment. And I don't knock anyone for carrying that attitude over into the present. My take now is that Joe tried to write his own narrative, so-to-speak, (and a lot of us bought into it) but the business model, timing, and 'the industry' got in the way.
I think that JH miscalculated, (not purposely misled) as regard the speed of adoption of the technology. The technology, it turns out, had to wait on the "industry" to emerge. and emerge it has!
JMHO.

Very true! However, it is sad that those stuck in the past are already missing out and what is ahead. I came to the conclusion that we were many years away on this one so I exited years ago. Now I have a different conclusion. I had the same information as everyone else and I dont marry or divorce any stock ever! I keep my eyes and ears open!

Today's $3.29 close is the third highest in almost three years. This is setting up nicely for a test of the recent $3.71 high and a run to $4.00.

“The roof, C-pillars, and rear deck are all laminated glazing for maximum visibility. Among the options are electrochromic glass panels, which can change opacity with the touch of a button. The effect is gorgeous, but also functional.”

That looks really good! So what will Ferrari and Lamborghini do? I wish I had exactly that in my freedom panels on top of my Jeep! I would pay 5k for it! I got more in lights then that on my Jeep. If the AUDI GT will have it Ill take that as well. My issue is the only EV car I have been in makes me motion sick but maybe it was because I was not driving.
