I have been following this all year and it doesn't bother me at all. With the run up in the price of MCAF stock, about $100 in the last 12 months, the execs have A LOT of available money from their stock options. They typically only have a small window of time within each quarter to sell. If I was them, I'd be selling too! |

Whoomi, (and Tim)
I tend to agree with Tim. And as you probably saw the stock did not take a hit after the executives sold their options. If more execs. dump the stock I would start getting worried.
Still, I do have my doubts about McAfee. The note you posted on another thread raises some good questions regarding their ability to integrate all their acquisitions into a cohesive product strategy. And, the stock price is becoming quite high!
I wonder if their ambitious MSM (McAfee service Manager) strategy will pay off. MSM is supposed to be the comprehensive integration between their asset/network management systems and the Vycor help desk. I have been trying to get an evaluation software package, but until now have only succeeded in obtaining the old package, i.e., with the "old" LAN Support Center. Will let you know if I get the new pack and have interesting commentary on it.
I have doubts regarding the internal help desk growth potential. That is, Vantive and the like are not seeming to abstain from this market. Perhaps McAfee would be wise to try and go also for the external CIS market? Perhaps not.
Bye, Ran. |

Doubts re: product integration and concerns over insider selling and stock valuations fundamentally back up the technical picture on the chart. A head and shoulders formation is in place, with the neck at 58.5. A close below 58.5 and the next stop is 51-52. Long term trend is up but I got out at 64.5 kind of by accident and am glad I did. Long term hold. Short term hold. Short term sell if it falls below 58.5. With this stock, I'm always looking for a re-entry point, though.

With the run up in the this stock over the past 12 months, you should not be worried about insider trading. In publicly traded companies, the executives usually only have a short period time each month that they are permitted to sell. The execs here have the opprortunity to cash out millions of dollars and diversify their holdings. Wouldn't you?
As far as product integration, McAfee has proven themselves to be very good at quickly integrating products. With the consecutive quarters of 20%+ growth and a 45% profit margin, this stock easily deserves a 40 P/E, which makes this at least a $65 stock. |

Well how long do you have to be in this business to be a long term player? Mcafee has repotred 32 quarters of growth with current earning 4 cents over the estimate and growing fast. I woudnt bet the house on any company including intel or microsoft but holding a small stake in a bunch of growing companies with good prospects makes sence.. |

Some are interested in QDEK at this time the price is 2 3/8. Some think it would be a good buy for Symantec as they can take some good products and stop some competition. Likewise, McAfee and CyberMedia (although I don't know Cyber's cash position) would benefit from QDEK.
If this stock goes in play the price will first jump without news. With 100 million sales and 25 million debt who knows what a good bid would be? I would play it as a takeover speculation at this time. |

Sounds intresting. I heard rumors about an year ago about taking over
a company like qdek when mcafee was doing their internet related stuff but since thats all done and over with I am not sure they would be intrested anymore. The earnings outlook looks good for qdek with a few nifty products. If any of the products can me matched to mcafee's current products I think mcafee would be seriously considering buying qdek at this point.
Now that I think about it I think I might just take out a few calls on qdek :) |
