Amy Helm and her band perform "Michigan," a beautiful cover of the Milk Carton Kids that appears on her new album 'This Too Shall Light,' live at Relix.

That was pretty good. I always loved Amy's voice. I saw two of her former band mates from her dad Levon's band not too long ago and thoroughly enjoyed the show. If you get a chance to See Larry Campbell and his wife Teresa Williams perform, I highly recommend it.

Fortunately I have had the pleasure of seeing them perform with Phil Lesh and a few other bands.

I forgot about the Phil Lesh connection. I imagine you have seen him, probably more times than I have.

I have seen Phil a 'few' times ;)

Even on the elevator at an Other Ones show in Hartford, CT.

Did you have a talk with him in the elevator or did you wish you had after it was over?

More of the latter ;) If I recall he was on the elevator when we got on. I think I might have said, "hey Phil" :)

I had a similar thing a while back with Bruce Hornsby. I was at a high school football game where my son was in the band. Bruce's nephew was on the team and he came walking up the steps of the bleachers. I was sitting on the end seat and was in total shock. We nodded to each other, but I wish I had stood up and shook his hand.

I'm always a bit hesitant, I guess a quick, "hi, nice to meet you, I enjoy your music" isn't too intrusive, but then on the other hand I kind of assume they want to be left 'anonymous'. It probably gets tiring not to be able to go out in public without someone bothering you...

I completely agree. Can't imagine what it's like not being able to go to the grocery store or anywhere without being hounded. I'll never have to worry about that, I'm sure.
