i believe we had a shortage of 35,000 truck drivers last year. this is not just a glut, it is limited number of qualified drivers. why, i believe if you have taken drugs or have criminal record you cannot get truck drivers license. I expect restrictions on licenses will be adjusted in the future.

I expect restrictions on licenses will be adjusted in the future. When we take our dog for a walk, we go by some train tracks and we have seen a lot more trains going by with just containers on them than usual. We even saw some with containers from UPS. Not having enough drivers will probably be an issue until the driverless trucks come out or they decide on a way to get more people to drive trucks, at least in the short term.

Side loading is bad and a huge vector for malware on smartphones. Should Apple lose the Epic court case and have to allow other app stores to install software on iOS devices, I anticipate a large increase in malware for the platform. Apple will get the blame for it, but what can they do if they can't control the security of apps?

often ups etc containers will be loaded on rail. rail is much cheaper than trucking. too bad they couldn't send them up a pipe line. gg

Anyone else here planning on buying one of the new MacBook Pros rumored to be announced on Monday? A family member of mine will be ordering a 16" MBP on first day of release. He's been waiting somewhat impatiently to replace his 2015 15" MBP after seeing how well my mother's 13" M1 MBP has performed.
