You're correct and my comments pertained more to those crazy valuations given to Amazon and others rather than Apple.
Yes, but shouldn't Apple have done better in the last 12 months than a car company?

What the heck are the units on the ordinate axis?

Unless I've been sleeping all the time, Apple did not appreciate 512.03% since the end of 2019...

Vroom vroom.

First spotted by MacRumors, a growing number of iPhone
users are reporting severe battery drain problems. It centers
on Apple Music and you don’t need to be a subscriber to be affected.
The preinstalled app is monopolizing battery resources regardless
( even if you delete it) and badly hit iPhones only last a few hours
on a full charge. Apple Support is acknowledging the problem, but
currently the only workaround it offers is a full factory reset – aka
the nuclear option.

07/11 Update: millions of iPhone owners have been hit by a
second problem in the last 24 hours with many of the most
popular iOS apps, including Spotify, Tinder, Pinterest, TikTok,
Venmo, repeatedly crashing when opened. The problem actually
stems from a bug in Facebook’s SDK which allows these apps to
integrate Login with Facebook functionality and even if you don’t use
Facebook to log into these apps, you would still be affected simply
because the functionality is part of the app. This is the second time
Facebook’s APK has gone down in 2020 and it is exposing a fund-
amental weakness in the integration of Facebook with iOS apps
(Android apps were unaffected). Facebook has now fixed the
problem, but there is clearly work to be done if iPhone and iPad
users are not to be hit by this again and again.

Moreover, the problem seems to affect all supported iPhone models
(and some iPads) across multiple versions of iOS, including both
iOS 13.6 and iOS 14 betas. And the issue appears to be spreading
quickly.

Thanks for the post. I have noticed it over the last 2-4 weeks. If you find any more info please let me know. My phone (X) only lasts a few hours now and I was wondering if I had a bad battery..

Tim C., fix this now. Absolutely no excuse.

I always use Facebook in a web browser. The app is too intrusive, large, and buggy.

It appears from the articles that the problem is with Facebook's SDK. They somehow messed up the iOS version and they alone can fix it. It has nothing to do with iOS. (Other than the fact that the SDK has to run there.)

Thanks Pete for the information. I am not on Facebook, but I do go, periodically, into settings/safari/advanced/website data and delete as many cookies as I can. Needless to say, every time I delete cookies, Facebook is there, although I never visit the website and I have nothing to do with the company. For that, I do blame Cook. I am not a tech, so my blame with Cook could be misplaced.

Thanks for the info.

Kurt

Edit: This method will only work with the desktop computer version of Facebook in Safari and other browsers, I misread the original post and didn't realize you were dealing with iOS

Have you tried saving a file of your own in the place of Facebook's cookie to keep Facebook's cookie from being saved?

I've heard of that solution in the past. For example, take text file of your own choosing, or even a file of another type, and save it with the same name as Facebook's cookie.

You can even use the Lock feature in in the Get Info dialog box (at the top, under General) to lock the file so it cannot be deleted easily.

I may try that as an experiment sometime to see if it still works. I use Facebook myself, so I wouldn't deleted its cookies, but your point is well taken.
