I've been listening to this debate for a couple days now and its the same old, tired arguments that I've been hearing from my own conversations with family & friends.

"Why don't you like Trump?"
"He lies"

What does he lie about?"
Answer 1: "I don't remember right now"
Answer 2: "He said the corona virus was no big thing and not to worry about."
Answer 3: "There were too many lies and and all you have to do is look.

"OK, but isn't what he accomplished in four years more important? Didn't you approve of anything he did?
Answer1: "I just wish he was different"
Answer 2: ""I just don't like his personality"

Here's my take on all this:

The debate points on :Trump's "lies" are not worth anything. It's like we're in a jury looking at the evidence. I don't see your point and you don't see mine. In the end we're deadlocked.
-On where Obama was born. My conclusion is that it was Kenya after looking at all the the evidence.
-On whether this is the strongest economy ever, I think it was (before this COVID business. All I saw at the time that you're arguing about was tremendous growth, everyone had a job that wanted one, record low unemployment with minorities.
-On who had the biggest inaugural crowd, I don't know and I don't care. It looks like Trump to me, but maybe it was Obama..
-On whether the election was stolen, I think the evidence indicates it was. Yes, I listened to everything and read many of the affidavits. This point of view makes sense to me because of the mail-in ballots (versus secure, absentee ballots.

I've stopped watching the news on major networks. They do a good job at swaying people to their point of view. They don't report the news, they report what they want you to believe. They leave out the other side and rarely give you the full picture.

So, this all being said, my vote is to move the debate here on this forum to something more worthwhile.
Let's start with this:
1) Do you agree with Trump's lowering of the corporate tax rate? or how about
2) Trump's immigration policies? Does the wall work? or maybe
3) NAFTA vs. USMCA. Which is better?

Yes, I am a Trump supporter. If I was forced to support my position, I would have to say that I believe that almost all politicians don't give a damn about anything other than themselves. Its a career move that lasts forever. Its a game to them and the voters buy into it. They take care of themselves and their own kind. Trump is the antithesis of that. He's a businessman who doesn't give a shit about the scumbags in office and he's not afraid to piss them off. Drain the swamp is the best way to say it.

So to reiterate, I think you should shift your focus from what you consider Trump's lies to Trump's accomplishments/policies and tell of what you think. This would be a much healthier discussion, agree?

On This Day in 1964, Democrats Filibustered the Civil Rights Act

June 10, 1964, was a dramatic day in the United States Senate. For the first time in its history, cloture was invoked on a civil rights bill, ending a record-breaking filibuster by Democrats that had consumed fifty-seven working days. The hero of the hour was minority leader Senator Everett McKinley Dirksen (R-Ill.).

On June 10, 1964, Democrats filibustered the Civil Rights Act.
Grand Old Partisan reported, via DANEgerus:

On this day in 1964, Everett Dirksen (R-IL), the Republican Leader in the U.S. Senate, condemned the Democrats’ 57-day filibuster against the 1964 Civil Rights Act. Leading the Democrats in their opposition to civil rights for African-Americans was Senator Robert Byrd (D-WV). Byrd, who got into politics as a recruiter for the Ku Klux Klan, spoke against the bill for fourteen straight hours. Democrats still call Robert Byrd “the conscience of the Senate.”

In his speech, Senator Dirksen called on the Democrats to end their filibuster and accept racial equality.

Michael Zak wrote about this in his book Back to Basics for the Republican Party and reminds us that Democrats, the party of Slavery, Secession, Segregation and the KKK… fought against equality.

I wonder if the Exalted Cyclops democrat racist of the Ku Klux Klan Robert Byrd did any hanging in his day?

We'll probably never know as democrats are very proficient in erasing history.

So where do you get your news and information???? Read any newspapers??? Where do you get the full picture?

You're losing Zero.....the only reason you haven't banned me by now is you need folks to populate your latest thread and with only about 550 posts you're not going last long....your rep preceded you....

Question for you....why do right wingers focus so much on race??? It's your primary concern, followed by guns and then immigration...
