I'm not as optimistic as he is about when the Sun might take out the grid.
We had that geomagnetic jerk early last year after a couple others already in the 2000s. They're coming closer together. With each one, magnetosphere strength takes a step down.
Here's a list from the 1900s, time between jerks is narrowing rapidly.

"...geomagnetic jerks have also been observed to occur around 1925, 1978, 1991, and 1999..."

The Sun doesn't really have to do anything spectacular to take out the grid at this point.

Where on earth will humans survive when this blows? Poisoned rain and at least several years of global winter..

Drone proofing: The main garden is about 1200 sq. ft.
The border is 6'6" ft. high. Internal fencing going up is 6 ft. chain link.
Potatoes(lots) carrots, onions, radishes in the ground. Corn, beets, squashes, melons, strawberries, cucumbers on deck.
Maybe I'll get that Thermonator as a guard dog....besides my 2 guard(en) real dogs. Feared by nearly everyone in town. They're sweethearts...unless.
The romaine I let go to seed last year is coming up in the front yard again. Lots more to go in.
4 other smaller plots too.

Very nice sir ... I didn't know you are a dog person. Looks like two very well cared for pups .. I'm sure they are sweethearts .. lol. Any chance the second pup has a little pit in there .. was a little blurry. My fav's by the way for the last 40 plus years.

Here's my ferocious guard dog ... she's helping to give presents out at xmas

Not so much a dog person as a security person.
The one on the stairs is Baby...mother of the other, Ceja (eyebrow). Both pit. Both have criminal records. :-)

Ben is only a little behind me and is now also less optimistic.
Not really the kind of thing that you want people agreeing with you on.
He went ahead and adjusted his entire timeline.
I'll need to remind him the the micronova is about the dust, not the Earth's magnetosphere.
Magnetosphere and micronova are on slightly different tracks.
Grid down due to magnetosphere weakness (or shenanigans) will likely happen sooner than Ben had thought but I'm not so sure that means the micronova probability weightings need to change.
But he changed that too.

Strongest eruption on the planet for over 30 yrs.
This and the 2022 Tonga eruption are two very large blasts in relatively rapid succession.

If this keeps up people are going to notice.
