I think that one needs some fact checking.
I'm pretty sure the Earth/Sun has done no such thing on any scale noticeable to people.
Inuit Elders advising NASA (who has LOTS of satellites zeroed in on the Sun's position relative to the ground on Earth).....ummmmm.

Kinda like "gems falling from the sky" over Kilauea.

It's always just the Inuit too. Nobody else, anywhere else.
I remember when it was first "news".
It reappears as "news" every year or so.
You found a June 2016 appearance.
Here's another...in a mostly credible news aggregator....March 2015.
watchers.news

An example of black propaganda making it through the cracks.

I get that, but think that as english is their second language, what they are more likely referring to is their oral history about the sun rising in a different place long ago.

My one contention with Ben's theory on Galactic "Parker Sheet" creating periodic devastation on Earth (and Sun) lies in just how would mega-fauna have managed to survive uncounted instances over hundreds of millions of years, with a Galactic Parker sheet strike every 12,000 years?

I mean, we're talking the Dinosaurs etc, because this can't be just a new phenomena with Mammalian Mega-Fauna extinction events due to PS strikes.

One would also have to believe there was some kind of geologic evidence in the layers of sediment that these fossils are located in of these numerous strikes.

Parker sheet strikes would have to have existed from the very beginning of Sagittarius A's formation, spiraling out from the center, just as they do from our Sun.

But one other aspect of the theory/hypothesis is that we can probably discount the potential for habitable planets, or life, in Solar systems that lie closer to the Sun.. They would be hit by those Parker Sheets on a much more regular basis, with more frequent extinction events.

I've thought about the mega-fauna survivability issue.
I've also thought about periodicity possibilities in re the Parker Instability.

With a galaxy, we're talkin' Big.
A spiraling arm of electromagnetic instability may not swing around once every 12,800 yrs.
It may be l much, much longer time span.
But, WITHIN the arm, there could very plausibly be a series of "sheets" of polarity boundaries. Each separated by 12,000 yrs.
The paoleoclimatic record shows that this 12,800 yr periodicity is only relatively recent and has no explanation as to its onset or how long it may last. It was not happening during the time of the dinosaurs. Their demise was a different cosmic matter.

Mega-fauna - compared to the mammalian fossil record...after the number of 12,800 cycles seen so far, there's not many at all left.
