In general, the accusation of incitement was for the Jan 6 speech.

I always considered it to be the call to come to Washington--be there-will be wild--to stop the acceptance of the state certifications. The immediate trigger to rushing the Capitol may have been the Jan 6 speech. That motive--stopping Biden from taking office--is what screams insurrection.

The folks who want to downplay the event always try to isolate it to try to frame it as just another riot.

I don't think anyone took it seriously. If any, it would have had to have been the few crazies -- not 500 people who have been held in gulags for six months for nothing more than trespassing. And one sentenced this week to 8 months because, according to the judge, we need to set an example. What bullshit (prosecutors wanted 18 months).

I think these people say what BLM had done in the previous year and thought, "We can't be out killing people and destroying property and robbing and looting like they did, but we can at least make our voices heard!"

So, if you want to make an example of someone, I suggest you look at BLM -- which has been given a pass for its far more horrendous behavior.

And I think some of this government misbehavior is the very reason Pelosi is hiding out now, refusing to allow the best questioner in all of Congress (Jim Jordan) on the committee. She's a dog, ya'll have to dump her.

If I ever go back to DC it will be the day Pelosi leaves because I'm certain there will be some serious celebration then.

His comments were perfectly appropriate.

Funny, though. I didn't see her public comments rejected him. And she wouldn't DARE tell him to his face.

She is the worst. I cannot imagine why you nutjobs want to be identified with her.

>> If the Republican Party actually survives as something more than a Trump Party, she has set herself up as a leader of it.

Bookmakers have her at a 95% chance of losing reelection. That sounds right; just the fringe nutjobs like Bill Kristol would support what she did.

the dumb guy that isn't afraid to display his dumbness....

He's a real gem, when coaching at Ohio State he ignored his wrestlers that came to him to tell him the team doc was a pervert.

"His comments were perfectly appropriate."
That's why you're not on the committee.

"She is the worst"
That tells me she's the best.

" I cannot imagine why you nutjobs want to be identified with her."

That number does not include the cost of having Secret Service agents stay at Trump properties.

Of course not .. add another "0" at least .. that number is classified ..
One thing is for certain ..
whatever the amount is won't be on any future Trump tax return ..
unless it's as a deduction ..

Triff ..

If those odds actually exist, I would take her side of the bet in 2022. Probably not in the primary (depending on who runs against her) but in the general.

"Today's word is "insurrection""

Shouldn't take the Congressional Committee more than 5 minutes to sort things out ..

Memo signed by the 8 members of the Pentagon's Joint Chiefs of Staff

Triff ..

I don't think anyone took it seriously.

Clearly, some did. Which made the event a leg of the insurrection. That there was a lot of filler in the crowd does not contradict the nature of the event, only increases the heft.

I think these people say what BLM had done in the previous year and thought..

I imagine that's what a lot of the filler thought. But they went along for the ride on someone else's ticket. As I have said before, I would not call them insurrectionists. But they were party to an insurrection.

BLM -- which has been given a pass for its far more horrendous behavior.

Fallacy--category error.
