About 1000 mg. I drink 4.5-5 liters of water a day. I don't drink pop, tea, coffee, juice, only water.

We find mushrooms in every season but winter. We've lived here for going on five years and didn't realize how prolific the Oysters are around here until this yr. We can literally walk out our front door and they're everywhere. Very delicious mushroom, almost as good as Chanterelles.

We also find Hedgehog, Chanterelle, Lion's Mane, Boletes, Cauliflower Mushroom, Angel Wings and various minor mushrooms and Jellies everywhere.

Your teacher friend should have had bucket loads of Morels on her property after that fire.

Here is some interesting information about mushrooms.

Fortunately I don't have to count salt. I drink a combination of home canned blackberry juice, a squeeze of lemon or lime, some stevia powder and mineral water over ice. I call it my blackberry soda. I'm almost out of our home canned blackberry juice, so I'll have to switch to store bot 100% cherry juice until we can make more of the blackberry juice this summer.

Is 100 mg a lot?

Going out into the woods to find mushrooms is a wonderful, and very tasty hobby. Gets you outside in the fresh air doing a lot of exploring and hunting. Very satisfying!

Its a lot depending how big the serving is. Swiss cheese I buy, a 3cm x 7cm piece only has 50 mg of sodium, compared to other cheese they range around 200 mg + of sodium.

If you don't mind me asking......how many mg are you allowed a day? The reason I ask is I have a friend who is on a very restricted salt diet and it's difficult. Do you know of salt substitutes that satisfy your need for salt? She's always looking for alternatives...........something about which I am completely ignorant.

The doctor didn't put me on the low sodium diet, I did. I retain water from my lung disease. I retain it in the lower legs and feet. I will not take a water pill, I found a low sodium diet works just as good. I don't crave salt. I don't snack on anything. I eat 2 times a day. I restricted my diet quite a bit and that has helped the water retention a lot. I also walk 1 KM a day. That also helps with the water retention.

I am looking for a snack that is low sodium. So far I have not found anything other then veggies and fruit. Everything else is high in sodium. Even low sodium products are still way too high. The one thing I eat that is high in sodium is fish sticks. I eat 3 sticks a day they have 80mg per stick and they are very low in bad fats.

I don't snack on anything either, and found that eating light meals works best for me. I walk three miles a day when it's not raining. Do you think you could increase the distance you walk? 1 km would never be enough for me. I've been exercising on a daily basis for all of my adult life and I'm completely addicted to endorphins.

I do walk more on other days, but I have to watch out as I get short of breath, my lungs are only at 40% capacity. So I can't over do it.
