Thus far, I'm doing pretty well several weeks into my cutting the "cable cord." My bill has gone down about $135 (I still have cable for Internet. It's the only game in town for Internet at this point).

I have an over the air antenna hooked up to one TV for the alphabet networks, local news and football. Watching the Seahawks right now, in fact. We watch Netflix, Amazon Prime and other content on the Roku. If I want an international news fox, I can get SkyNews and France24 on the Roku. I still am able to get a FoxNews fix on the iPad using the FoxNews Go app (using my daughter's cable login).

I couldn't be more pleased.

A good place to find auto parts for older cars down to 1902.

We're on our second yr owning a 52" Toshiba, and it's worked well for us.

I did want to pass along some information about tvs that I read somewhere. TVs sold by WalMart, Target, Fred Meyer etc are made with inferior products. TVs you buy at Best Buy or Costco are made with superior products. Have no idea if this is true, but tvs at those stores are always more expensive, and that is supposed to be the reason why. Also.........Costco has a two yr warranty automatically included with their electronics, whereas stores like WalMart do not.

Toshiba is a good brand. I don't buy major electronics from Walmart or Target, etc.

Take a look at Ruku's website. They really are pretty neat devices. Thousands of channels...........most free, some not.

We bot the one we have at Fred Meyer, and crossing our fingers it doesn't die on us. No sign of that, but wouldn't be surprised if it only lasts 5-6 yrs.

Initially, I didn't want another one, but I ended up getting a 40" Samsung smart TV after a long research about features and ratings. I decided to go with 4K too since I hope to keep this a good while and I figure it will slowly overtake 1080p. I have a Samsung laptop that I want to use with it, which wouldn't pair with my back room Panasonic (that one is now in my room).

I've got a 32" Samsung that I bought about a year and a half ago. I beat it to death. It's on every day for over 12 hours. So far so good. Samsungs seem like they need a little more settings adjustments to get the picture optimized.....I don't mean professional calibration. Just fiddling with the settings.

Also have a year old 55" Vizio in the living room. I like both sets, but we rarely use the Vizio.

One thing I did, and hope not to have to use...Square Trade's warranty plan. I'm not sure what the hoops are that one might have to jump through to get their warranty honored satisfactorily, but I've read good things about them.

Look for coupons online...they regularly offer % off coupons.

I opted for Amazon's 5 year warranty on the set this time, something I hardly ever do, but the cost per year was very reasonable given the price of the TV.

Amazon used to offer Square Trade warranties as an option. I looked before I posted my previous post and didn't find the Square Trade option. They must have decided to offer their own?
