As a New Yorker, it is so surprising how many republican leaders have found her an intelligent, concerned, and responsible senator.

If you know of any pork she pushed through, I would love to hear about it. She, and I--and almost all New Yorkers--have been furious that the anti-terrorism money became pork. Per capita, NY has gotten far far fewer dollars than states with much lower risks. For example-Iowa cornfields or Tennessee small town police. The morgue for the 9/11 body parts is at my corner and still identifying remains.

Perhaps I'm unaware of the pork she's brought in. Please be specific. For example, NYC needs a 2nd Ave subway, which was approved and started before the money crunch in the Ford administration. That subway would reduce congestion and pollution and cost a fraction of the $50 million per capita of the Alaska bridge.

I have no idea where she has come out, since I have not been following her much (which is why I said "I wonder, but have not looked into it at all...").

If I was still in NY, my concern would be that she would not be fighting enough for NY -- she has no real attachment to the city and state, and her current position might be viewed as a stepping stone so she might not want to ruffle too many feathers. From the tone of your post, I guess that is not the case. Good to hear. I miss NYC and always hope the best for it (although I have my doubts that the Second Avenue subway will ever be built!).

Talking about pork could cause her to lose the entire Muslim vote. And it shows a lack of cultural sensitivity. I bet she is never going to be seen eating a ham sandwich.

Best we develop another moniker for "p__k"..

Tuna has the same number of letters, but not the the greasy association....any suggestions?
