China reiterated earlier this month they have eery intention of taking Taiwan back...and warned the US not to intefere. The current Taiwan Govt. is pro West. There is a recession in Taiwan. The think tanks say that China will go ballistic if the US sends arms to Taiwan. Scuttle any trade deal. Prevailing opinion is that the US take monetary actions to support the current Governement, low interest loans and incentives to invest in Taiwan. Recently, The House approved a massive aid package and reiterated support for Taiwan.

International politics are interesting....

All Taiwan has to do is to drop a 100lb on Chinese High Speed Train rail track and the East is cut off from the West....

A nuclear war with China would solve their population problem... and most of the country is used to living in the 15th Century.... probably would not notice a nuclear exchange.

Huawei was planning to announce a new MateBook laptop this week, but an executive confirmed that the company cancelled the launch because of US sanctions against the Chinese company. It's not clear when—or whether—the laptop will be released.

When all this is resolved.... I will be buying a MateBook.

New iPhone Lineup Unlikely To Spur Big Uptick In Demand, Analyst Says

An investment bank on Thursday cut its forecast for Apple ( AAPL) smartphone production this year, saying the new iPhone lineup this fall is unlikely to drive meaningful growth.

Yasuo Nakane, global head of tech research for Mizuho Securities, said he foresees "weak demand" for the 2019 model iPhones because of "limited new features."

In a report, he lowered his iPhone production estimate to 178 million units from 186 million
