By the way, Soitec was also nicely up yesterday, after reporting stellar numbers on Wednesday (revenue up 40%, guidance up 45%, H1 up 53%, best ever). The stock is up almost 15% the last 5 days.
I have had a good week. Looking forward to AMD earnings! |

Oct. 21, 2021 10:13 PM ET
Excerpt:
The company has guided to a Q4'21 revenue goal inline with analyst targets around $18.3 billion while the EPS guidance is below estimates at $0.90. What really stands out with guidance is the gross margin target of 53.5%. Intel has now forecast the typically strong Q4'21 revenues will generate a 650 basis point hit to gross margins after just reporting a quarter with 56.5% margins.
In essence, Intel will report a EPS of just $0.90 after hitting $1.52 last Q4. The company is forecasting revenues falling again. The indications remain that Intel is picking up low margin CPU chip deals while competitors AMD ( AMD) and Nvidia ( NVDA) are taking the higher margin chips in data centers.
Ugly Setup
Heading into these quarterly results, Intel was already facing tons of lost market share to AMD and Nvidia. These chip companies have been growing revenues at 40%+ annual clips while Intel can't even grow anymore.

Which coincides with Enterprise growing and Cloud shrinking..
That means that the high core count is shifting to AMD. |

From: Joe NYC | 10/22/2021 3:55:58 PM | | | | Kumar notes that Intel pointed to weakness in the low-end of the PC market whereas the high-end PC market fared better. Chips for high-end PCs are an area of strength for AMD. Kumar thinks that’s good news for the company, which reports quarterly results on Tuesday.
“We continue to believe AMD is well positioned to continue to take share from Intel in both PCs and servers,” Kumar wrote. “In our eyes, Intel’s hiccups continue to leave AMD in a better position competitively, as it will take multiple years for Intel to catch up.”

They must have some contra-revenue going between Santa Clara and Staples is all I can think of. The lowest priced notebook was $299 and the highest was $799. |

So maybe it was a destiny for me to come back to be an AMD investor...
PS: Lisa Su is a Scorpio, whatever that means... Will come back at you with a big sting... |

From: Joe NYC | 10/22/2021 6:39:39 PM | | | | So I came across the source of the story about overclocked Alder Lake overclocked to 5.3 GHz on all big cores The power consumption at 400W
Small cores were turned off, so if those were on, it would be even higher.
