Don't you leave it on all the time? Why reboot?

I don't leave the phone (or computers) on all the time. Off at bed time, on with the morning coffee pot. I'm told that a "reboot" does some stuff that doesn't happen with a shut down and start up the next day. I may need to get hold of my phone supplier and ask these questions there.

Heck, I leave both on all the time. If you do, please report back what they tell you.

A shutdown power up whenever is a clean reboot. What's mostly going to happen is all the apps you Fire up during the day will be terminated. You can do the same thing without power down by holding the button and sliding each app window (or card) to the top of the phone. This is the Palm patent now owned by Qualcomm that Apple is blatantly infringing but that's another matter.

Since I've had little trouble with my iPhone I don't think I'll do a single thing different than I've always done. I believe the person I got this from knows his stuff, but I just don't think it's necessary in my case. We'll see.....

I don't have an IPhone, but do reboot my Samsung S8+ occasionally. Like computers, when there is a glitch or it doesn't operate smoothly a reboot usually clears out any issues. A reboot certainly is not harmful.

I've recently seen the value in doing so with both my computers. I'm sure it would benefit my iPhone as well, but it looks like it will require me to have a password to get it to work afterward. I don't know of a password for that. I meant to check with the phone folks but forgot.
