OT: GOOD READS: "Sailing to Sarantium" by Guy Gavariel Kay and other books by him including "Under Heaven". Excellent prose based enough on real history. Have ready many of his books, a few two or three times.

This SPY monthly chart from DP shows the broken bull market trend line and the next big downside possibility. There is horizontal support at this year's lows, but the next major support is on the secular bull market rising trend line, drawn from the 2009 low. A decline of about -25% from the all-time highs would take price back to that line.

Xi says it's time to "prepare for war." Xi might mean it. He recently threatened the Philippines if they drill in their own waters, confirmed by international courts. The Chinese economy is showing bubble-trouble. The hype about the G-20 side-meeting with Trump is fading.

I noticed lots of bullish talk on my feeds this weekend. Then Goldman/Kostin put out a buy on the wires early this morning. Of course, Goldman/Kostin are doing this for our benefit, not because they have something to sell out of their funds or IPO's to bring.
