Congrats to J. Conley for winning the 2007 SI Pool!

UCLA went 5-23 behind the arc and that killed them. Oh well.

Congrats to J. Conley
I see that even if Florida wins I can't finish any better than 3rd. OTOH, I would feel satisfied as the highest total to pick the overall winner.
Florida looks unbeatable but that's why they play the game.
Thanks for the contest again this year.

On behalf of the Gator Nation we accept the trophy. I would also like to congratulate the others who picked the Gators all the way, Seminole83 and Salesperson. Even though we didn't win the bracket picks we took the brass ring.
Oden played his best game. Got some no calls while the refs called a lot of tight fouls on FL. Another year or two in college would help him a lot, In the end Florida had too much firepower at all positions.

Congratulations Jim. A very rare repeat for a national champion. These guys have a lot of talent but the key was their unselfish team play.

It's a shame they will probably not come back as seniors. Imagine a third year....

So, what is the prize for losing two years in a row?

I prefer to think of my performance this year as a prime example of the parapsychology term, "Psi Missing," in which the person being tested for psychic abilities performs much worse than would occur by random chance.....like flipping a coin 100 times and calling it wrong 75 times.

Next up......MIND BULLETS!

For decades, perhaps, Joakim Noah, Al Horford, Corey Brewer, Taurean Green and Lee Humphrey will be compared to the great college basketball starting lineups. nytimes.com

It will be interesting to look back five years from now and see how these guys are doing as pros. If they are holding their own in the NBA, then, yes, this Florida team will go down with the greats. If they flame out, it will be a shining example of how the whole was greater than the sum of the parts.

Congrats to everyone who picked Florida. The odds didn't favor you but Florida's will did. These guys dominated each and every time they hit the court and deserved to be crowned champions again.

You had two six seeds making the Final Four. In a pool of 20 people, that's not a good strategy as if you are correct, you'll win by 100 points. Pick that correctly for ESPN's challenge and you might be in the running for prize money. If I had to guess, I'd say anyone picking all the favorites this year would have been very competitive. But a bounce here or there and Ohio State and Georgetown are watching from home, so you really never know.

I suspect Horford and Brewer will do well in the pros. Noahs shot is suspect so he's iffy (if he develops a mid range hook). Green could be like a Charley Ward maybe. Humphrey is a Steve Kerr at best. Richard has the body for it, he would have started for most any team in the tourney.
The big question going forward is what Billy Donovan is going to do. Some says he's going to Kentucky but he has roots in Gainesville. He's active in the Catholic community. His Dad is the high school coach of his son there. The Gator Nation has more moolah than Kentucky can think about.

These guys could make a deal with Billy and stay another year. <G>. If they go I wonder what he's got left in the tank there. Must have some great recruits coming in who will play immediately.

It puzzled me that so many here picked Ohio State since they lost to FL by 26 during the regular season.

The most disappointing teams were Tennessee and North Carolina. Blowing big leads. Carolina really busted my bracket.

I think Florida will give Billy whatever he wants, the school went decades with a lousy program (though Norm Sloan wasn't bad) I doubt they want to risk that again.
