I don't know about number and intensity of storms. The foothills are always prone to that action.

Calgary's population has increased 6 fold in my lifetime, as has the accompanying materialism. Its in the hail belt so not surprising when a hail event happens it gets more expensive every-time. At least to my simplistic eye.
Its lush and green and no smoke so there is always an upside.
