Very interesting thread. Very few who posted here are still around. Not surprising given polarization and lack of dialogue in USA.

I have to wonder, is the Left serious about raising taxes on the wealthy and taxong unrealized stock gains with the express purpose of giving that money to first time home buyers and those with no experience wanting to start a new business?

If so, I think it is a big mistake on so many fronts.

I don’t think so, unrealized capital gains will not be taxed because it is not easily implemented and Congress won’t go with it. Just like the right BS about closing the government. Extreme left or right or extreme changes to the budget just does not fly in congress. I am holding my fingers crossed with Trump eliminating crypto taxes. I have little doubt he will win. Micron had a blowout quarter on AI and chips act, they are a major recipient of the chips act money, Brenda has no chance to be elected. I think both choices are good for peace,
but Trump will destroy world trade with his tariffs. I think Intel is about to die, this shows tech can’t be undervalued, it either grows or dies.

Why do you now think that Trump will win?

My positions have not changed at all. I still support socialized medicine and opportunity for all to succeed with free public college tuition for poor and working class.

As for my Zionism, there was never a need to show it untill the Biden/Harris administration wavered in their support for Israel.

Trump will be the only Republican I will vote for.

I want this antisemitism and root causes of it squashed immediately.

I will not vote in House race as I dislike both candidates. I am voting D in Senate race.

Hogan will not win in MD. He is finished in politics.

I have always thought Trump will win because Kamala is a woman, and will be perceived unfit for the role of commander-in-chief. Her age and composure (debate performance) positions her better but the US will never vote for a woman. Biden Harris did get the blame for inflation even though it was Trump who printed money. It was technically Powell but he printed under Trump. When you quadruple m1 you can get inflation, even if effect (inflation) is delayed from cause (money printing). Powell’s printing directly led to asset price inflation way beyond fundamentals making it unsustainable. I don’t get how the country degenerated into throwing insults at debates. It used to not be that way.

The public will blame Biden/Harris for the inflation because they were in charge when inflation surged. Most Americans are not metaphysical/ transcendental. That is to say, they don't analyze root causes. So, what you are saying about inflation is true in theory,. but irrelevant, practically speaking.

I am voting not so much for Kamala as against Trump. He is more negative in my view, whereas I view Kamala as someone who will implement continuity of the government and US policies. I don’t believe there will be any commie reforms, this is just something they have to do to appeal to their radical base. I actually want someone like Hogan to run the country.
