O/T: "...Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha..... Still trying to sell that tired old mmmary-bash jive, aye, Twooth Squeeker..!?! Well, perhaps your 12 months will be up soon and you can hide behind another new phonetic anomaly - not plagiarized from the Red Skelton show. Originality has never been your strong suit, has it.

OBTW: Have you and your mentor, Anthony Amr Elgindy, spoken on the phone recently? Or, are you still just communicating via freebie post cards from the NY State lockup..???

I checked KORE when it was mentioned and again today. It has tanked, but it would be nice if someone kept a spreadsheet of stocks by paid mailer pump dates and tracked the Friday closes that followed for a few months.

It would be interesting to see if any of them fail to hit the skids; which I realize is unlikely.

Quick question?
I have just got into the markets recently but i don't understand how just sending out emails and newsletters can bring in so much buying/volume in penny stock that almost don't even trade at all. Whats the trick behind this? Do so many people start believing in the companies that send out newsletters. Can someone please give me an answer for this.

The point of this Board is to identify stocks being 'promoted', the amounts being spent (usually by illusive 3rd parties), and show a track record of firms and individuals directly involved in the industry. Ie: it's not investing, so "..Caveat Emptor..".

The promotional snail mail, fax blasts, and emails appear to be directed at people who either subscribe(d) to stock newsletters or whose addresses are bought from brokerage lists, stock chat sites, or other related sources who are willing to sell out their membership. I would presume that some WWW data mining is involved as well, to glean 'mad money' from buyers of niche and high end purchases from Abercrombie & Fitch, Eddie Bauer, Sharper Image, Hammacher Schlemmer, Saks Fifth, etc., etc. Like USPS "..Junk Mail..", a small percentage of response can obviously return sufficient gains to sustain the practice.

Some recipients are either dedicated or aspiring momentum players looking for an angle, or the less astute who may take the bait for fear of 'being left out' on an issue that might 'rocket'. It could be described as a postal and electronic media model loosely based on Boiler Room, a 2000 film starring Giovanni Ribisi, Vin Diesel, Ben Affleck, et al. Concurrently, there seems to be a little of the 1987 "..Greed is good.." film, Wall Street, thrown in for seasoning.

Most likely, the few successful players in the game are computerized program traders or very experienced day traders who buy-sell-flip at typically conservative +% gains as the insiders, front runners, and MFMMMs/Broker-Dealers work the stock in some form of pump-&-dump scenario.

Simply a matter of learning from you guys, Pete..!!! And watching players like SI's golden boy, Anthony@Pukerific, get sent off to the slammer for being a FED snitch, working related insider info, and then subverting FBI agents to help run his '$1000/mo. paid subscriber' Short, Bash & Extort Parade newsletter.

Lots of folks around here either evaporated or changed their aliases after that debacle. Other were left holding the bag on unfulfilled $1K A@P subscriptions. The 'Ferrari Lawn-mowing & Lamborghini Club' didn't fare much better. Even iHub has had it's little difficulties with these subjects.

"..Such a deal........ It even drove ol' 'mmmary' totally squirrely (tee hee)..!!!

re. WKBT, that company has surprisingly good financial statements. In fact, the best I've seen for a paid mailer. Usually there's no company at all, or almost none, behind these paid mailer stocks and it shows in the Q's and k's.

Of course, since it is a Chinese microcap, the numbers might not be for real.
