The Afrikaans language is old-style Dutch and white South Africans who created apartheid were Dutch farmers after all.

Boers, as in the Anglo-Boer Wars, is merely the Dutch word for Farmers. If they had been German the English would have likely called them Bauers.

Afikaans sal bly , "Afrikaans will remain" (or translated from modern Dutch Afrikaaners zal blij Afrikaaners will be happy") is their slogan as Afikaans speaking Universities in South Africa transition to English amid huge protests.

The slogan has tracked as a popular song by Afikaans singer Elandré Schwartz

At least they apologized, did we ever do that?

Today they are one of the most advanced nations on earth, including ethics.

That little nation is the bread basket of Europe!

And light years ahead of us culturally.

What you posted is exactly what I said i.e. that the country of the Netherlands has the technical expertise.

Whether ASML is directly involved or not is moot.

The point I was making was that the country has great technological expertise and is helping Ukraine with their drone technology, and it is.

koan:'

The Netherlands and Ukraine signed a security agreement.

Why this is important, IMO, is because the Netherlands is the TOP producer of equipment to make chips.

So imagine how they can help Ukraine with their drone technology!

I doubt drone designers and start-ups in the Netherlands are little different in capabilities to US makers, but they have a check from the Dutch government while US funding is being held up by Putin's Republican buddies - that's the only difference.

congress.gov.
H.Res.194 - 110th Congress (2007-2008): Apologizing for the enslavement and racial segregation of African-Americans. | Congress.gov | Library of Congress

In 2007, Rep. Steve Cohen (D-TN-9) introduced H.Res.194, a resolution that apologized for the enslavement and racial segregation of African-Americans. The resolution was referred to the House Judiciary Committee...
On July 30, 2008, the United States House of Representatives passed a resolution apologizing for American slavery and subsequent discriminatory laws. Nine states have officially apologized for their involvement in the enslavement of Africans.

In 2009, the Senate put forward resolutions apologizing for slavery.

Even G.W. Bush discussed the need for the US to confront slavery and racial injustice.

Hey, its something, though a long way to go.

Also, reparations are a big topic here in California statewide and locally in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Trump and MAGA's don't apologize, probably consider it woke, but most do in 2024.

Has the Netherlands ever elected a black President like the US (Or Prime Minister to be precise) I suspect not...

Awhile back I posted about a black pro football player friend who was born in Germany but resided in Finland Toronto Argonaut, Porvoo Butcher and also Oakland Raider for a short time where we became lunch pals. According to my buddy broad racism continues in Northern Europe. But like here, there are good people who fight for change in various private organizations and institutions, progress is real.

Racism of myriad kinds is pervasive all over the world.

Many if not most people in the world are racist, or sexist, or homophobic of one type or another.

But the kids less so, by a large number.

Being non racist, sexist or homophobic once again comes back to whether the person's mind id developed or not.

Most prejudice is a manifestation of ignorance.

The Netherlands is one of the most advanced societies on the planet intellectually, and including it's moral fabric.

I didn't say they were better than us.

I only said they would be helpful to Ukraine.
