He forgot to tuck properly before the jump.

Word is he's had many date and marriage proposals since that ill-fated leap though, so that should soften the blow a bit.... so to speak.

The tracks we had were uphill in both directions, were oriented so the sun was always in your eyes, and made of crushed cinder designed to make you unstable. But you will never see me using this as an excuse. Nor will I ever bring up how we ran in flat shoes, wore stiff cotton uniforms, and the stopwatches typically ran slow by at least two seconds.

Edit: I forgot to also say I would never mention that we had headwinds regardless of which direction we ran.

This is a great rendition of "The sound of silence." I'm sure a few people have heard it but if you haven't it's probably the best version I've ever heard. The band is disturbed and you won't like anything else they do - trust me. I'll be back to deal with all you bastages for the hurtful posts about me later

Oh, and let's not forget Mondo Duplantis. He was born in the US, went to school here, his father was a well-known US pole vaulter... but he has been allowed to compete for Sweden because his mother is Swedish. He's always said he would, so, hey, I guess he's following his dream for his mother.

After Mondo jumped 19'1" at the NB indoor nationals in 2017, both a world indoor age record and a half inch higher than his father's PR, I asked him which of those two was more satisfying. He said without hesitation it was beating his father's best jump lol. Really nice kid.

Gabby Thomas always comes across as such a wonderful and intelligent woman. You get the feeling she would be the best at anything she sets her mind to.

Keely Hodgkinson of GB will win it.
I would have thought she'd have killed it (gone faster), but when you know you can outsprint your competition, and none of your competition want to take it out hard on the first lap to try to take the sprint out of you, hey, take the gift and the easy gold.

Mondo is Mondo. Insane.

I always pull for the USA team. With shamika jackson, shakari Richardson, Elaine Thompson and Shelly Anne Frazier price out of the 200m she's got a good chance at a medal.
